  • Mike,
I guess this question is devoted mainly to you ,because of your interest and investigation of supernatural phenonema.........Have your investigations convinced you of some kind of "afterlife" or are you a sympathetic sceptic?
Ive reached no conclusions either way really, but Id be interested to hear your conclusions..or come to that anybody elses too.
    regards

Good lord! Send some of that down here, Stan!

Did you see the UFO program that was on Saturday night on History? The episodes of the small objects landing in the fields was so similar to what I told yall about back in the Spring. Where the thing drilled holes in the soy bean field?

      Best,

      • Hi Cel,

Was that the show with the daylight sighting of the little silver objects dancing out over the empty field? If so, I think I saw it on an earlier date.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

        • Hi Dougie, some time ago, with a few sightings under my belt, I was convinced that the ghostly encounters were nothing more than trapped memory, being replayed over and over again.

The reason being, every encounter I had, seemd to be one sided, i.e. Nothing would respond or react to me being there.

But since I formualted that theory, I was proven wrong when a little boy seemed to be playing hide and seek with me on an investigation earlier this year.

Having seen my grandfather, and my wife and mother seeing him, I tend to believe there is something after death, just not sure what.

I heard today that the R38 memorial was missing both plaques announcing the American and British who perished in the tragic accident over the humber. I am trying to get something organised to raise funds to have replacements made. Watch this space!

          • Hi Mike,

Have you not sensed the presence of someone? The vibes would reflect a definite personality. I'm not talking about something caused by EMF, but something from which you can detect a real intelligence. I have never seen a spirit or ghost.

Years ago, I went to apply for a part time job in an old hotel that was being used as a museum. One of those hands-on places that became so popular in the 1980's. The director sat me in a chair in a corner of the lobby with a clipboard. When I sat down, something, a spirit rushed up against me. The energy was quite strong, and kept crushing against me, and I sensed a personality behind it. It was either very curious about me or pleading for recognition. I spoke to it with my mind, saying "I acknowledge your presence." After that it backed off. It seemed satisfied that I knew it was there. I had the impression it was a male. Some months later, one of the women who worked with me, saw the ghost of a man in the only room that was set up in the manner that the old hotel rooms were set up. Everyone thought the place was haunted.

Have you not experienced this kind of thing? I have had it happen on several occasions. It's as if, the spirit of a place wants to be acknowledged.

            Best,

            Cel

            • Oops! Stan, I almost didn't see this. Yeah, that was the one. I saw the part about the silver objects, but I must have come in late to the program the first time around because I missed the luminescent ring on the ground. The thing is, nothing was mentioned about drilling. The woman who told me her story was very definite about drill holes at the corners. She was quite miffed that the geology department didn't send someone out. I had to make her understand that it was before my time by about a year!

              • ABC is supposed to play a UFO program tonight. I think it might be the Peter Jennings one which was pretty good.

                • I have sensed stuff, but without scientific equipment, it is nothing more than a feeling and cannot be verified.

In my teens, like most, I went through a rough patch, and was extremley low. I would often lay awake and silly thoughts would rush through my head. Then one night a "felt" something sit on the bed. I "sensed" it was a female, possibly my nan, who had passed some years earlier. I felt a sudden rush of warmth and emotion, and felt good. I will never forget that, and it changed my life forever.

Thats also the first time I have ever spoke of it!

Nan's know when some comfort's needed...so I expect it was her...just letting you know she was there for you..

Thanks for sharing it with us.

                    • Of course there's life after death. But 99.5% of all ghost stuff you hear is phooey. It's that .5% that keeps us intrigued, I believe.

As for UFO's, I'll admit there's a lot of good, interesting information once you get past the kooks. I hope I can see that program Stan is talking about. I asked my gf to record it for me tonight. She has cable, which is new for me. Lately I've seen some episodes of UFO Files. Some pretty good stuff on there. All the ghost programs are fake and stupid though. There's not enough legitimate material to fill a show, I believe. At least not documented.

                      Yours truly,

                      • The UFO program is 9:30 Eastern on Primetime on ABC. It's an hour and a half. Probably will say nothing, but maybe there'll be something new.

                        Mike,

Thanks for sharing the story of your Nan. I know the experience you describe. I agree with Anna on this. Nan's know when you need them.

I think the instrumentation that can measure the types of things we experienced has yet to be invented or, at least refined, because we are not sure what kind of energy is involved. Frankly, if we, at our core, are spiritual beings, then we might, at least, be as qualified to recognize other spiritual beings as an EMF detector or EVPs. Still, I adhere to the TAPS philosophy, despite my personal experiences.

                        • I just can't believe in UFO's.

I can watch programmes on them, and feel they may exist, apart from one thing.

If they are so advanced and more advanced than us...then we hold no fear for them...which they would know if they were watching us.

So why don't they land, come out and try to communiate with us.

Personally...I don't like 'em.IF they exist, and have taken and experimented on people, then they are bad news, and maybe we should have some defences to stop them from coming too close.Perhaps Nassa should have concentrated on this, rather than sending things to the moon,as our survival is more important
                          than exploring planets.
                          ANNA.

                          • Hi Anna,

Yeah, I sometimes wonder about these things, too, but it's a mystery and that's what matters to the likes of us. Otherwise we wouldn't be on this site, I guess.

Like you, I don't like the violation of people. I had this extremely vivid dream that a strange, skinny alien was in my room talking to me. ( This was before I finally got married.) It had taken a blood sample from one of my fingers. I remember being so angry with it, and deeply resenting the violation because the blood sample was done against my will. In the dream, I had the knowledge that this had happened many times, and I was getting really tired of it. I woke up with my finger hurting like crazy. There was a little hole there, and the scar from it lasted for years. I guess some kind of insect bit me and my mind turned it into an alien! He looked like this guy only he was light blue.

My husband Tom says that all he wants to know is how the engines work! (Which also translates as he's skeptical about them.) He's an engineer, and is curious about anything mechanical, electrical, or scientific. I swear, Anna, he's a marvel sometimes.

                            • Upon further investigation, it appears the that flying saucer show tonight is not a rerun of the Jennings piece. If not, I guess we'll have to wait and see if it's any good.

                              • OK, I'd seen about 90% of those already. There must not be very many good flying saucer stories if they have to keep recycling the same ones.
