  • Hi Plang, Will have a look at Amazon.

I picked up loads of old "Yorkshire Ghosts/Myths/Legend" type books off there yesterday for as little as £1 each!! Many were from the same company I use a lot so I will get a huge discount on postage too!

It's available for about £3 so I will order a copy. Is the guy still missing then?
    Regards Mike

        • Hi Mike,

While watching parts of a TWILIGHT ZONE Marathon on the Science Fiction
Channel on Cable yesterday I saw they are having episodes of a ghostfinders
program. Is your work ever on that?

          • BTW, Mike, in regards to Jeff's post above, you were a bit coy about TAPS recently, saying you had talked to them. Spill the beans, son! Did Ghosthunters Internat'l come to Hull, or environs?

Jeff, did you see the one with Carol Burnett?

              • I spoke to the guys at TAPS when I was involved with another group about becoming affiliated. They know what I do and were I am if they need me.
It would be a pleasure to show the Ghosthunters International team around.

The radio show I do once a month is listened to globally so it would be great if they listened!!

So far we have been only dipping our toe's into the media aspect but do have some plans for the future. I cant give too much away but it involves a large investigation to make money for a local cause.
                Regards Mike

                  Hi Celesta,

I did not see the episode with Carol Burnett in it. I saw one with Jonathan Harris as a hospital doctor whose patient has a recurring nightmare, and another where Larry Blyden has died and is in an afterlife that seems like all he ever dreamed for, but is actually a version of hell, and finally one with Buster Keaton as an 1890 janitor who accidentally goes into the future with a time machine he puts on.

                  Best wishes,

                  Jeff

                  • Hi Jeff,

I only saw the one with Carol. It was rather low-key. She did some of her pratfalls but she was playing a contented young woman, who was actually happy in her life, in spite of money troubles and being clumsy, etc. A guardian angel was sent to improve her life in order to earn his wings. It the angel who actually learned a lesson from it.

I know I've seen most of these shows. It's been a long time though.

Hope you and the family had a nice 4th. Ours was good.

                    Hi Mike,

It all sounds very positive, Mike. I'm glad your group is moving forward. I just thought it would be fun for people to see it on TAPS.

                    • It will happen someday. Just today I was offered my own Paranormal Radio Show! I said yes but obviously want to know more.

We have some great locations lined up and it is moving forward at such a fast pace it is amazing. The website has over 2,500 hits in under 2 months, over 100 guestbook entries, and loads of good positive feedback.
                      Regards Mike

                      • Hi Celesta,

We had a nice 4th of July, despite the lingering remnants of my head cold and a physical complaint of my mother. My sister's family came over yesterday for a visit.

Hope you and your family had a good holiday too.

Good luck Mike with the new radiio program. You'll let us know the details.

                          • Hi Mike,

I hope that you are able to be picked up by my FM/AM radio in New York City.
That is why I want to know the frequency of the station.

Believe it or not, I still have not completed the Earhart biography, but I came across something which, in light of what happened to her within eight months, is somewhat ironic. It also fits this thread to some extent, since we are discussing more than UFO phenonmenon but now paranormal (i.e. ghosts) and even brought in something about spontaneous combustion. It seems Amelia and a friend of hers tried to solve an aviation mystery using ESP.

The book again is AMELIA: A LIFE OF THE AVIATION LEGEND by Donald M. Goldstein and Katherine V. Dillon, (Washington, D.C.: Potomac Books, Inc. 1997). On pages 161 to 162 the authors tell us how Earhart and a fellow
aviatrix Jacqueline Cochrane were interested in a missing airplane: a Western Air Express plane with seven persons on board vanished over Utah while flying to Los Angeles. Cochrane had been following some pioneering studies in ESP at Duke University by J. B. Rhine, and she felt she had some extra sensory power. She and Earhart looked over maps of Utah for a couple of hours, and then Cochrane said she thought she saw the wreckage near a certain area that had landmarks that were among those Earhart's photos included. On December 21, 1936 Earhart flew her airplane along the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake for two hours following the hunch. Unfortunately she could not sight any wreckage. The following spring snow in the area melted and the wreckage was found. According to one of the sources used by the authors it was found within 2 miles of where Cochrane said she felt it would be. [One of the sources is Jacqueline Cochrane's autobiography, THE STARS AT NOON; and the other is a second autobiography by Cochrane assisted by Maryann Bucknum Brinley, JACKIE
                            COCHRANE.]

Odd, isn't it, that Amelia would get involved with a missing plane mystery within eight months of her own flight into oblivion.

                            • The radio will be internet based and should be accessable via a website. It's quite a common practice now and it means I can record it from my own home too!

On the subject of female aviators, Amy Johnson was born in Hull. There has been a rumour for years that my mothers side of the family were related to her, it always gets brought up at family gatherings but I have never proven it.

My family has more skeletons in the closet than Ed Gein!

                              • I've heard Jeanne Axford French, the victim of Red Lipstick Murder/Black Dahlia fame from 1947, described as an aviatrix but I haven't found what she did to earn that designation. She was also referred to as a bit part actress and I haven't found any movies she was in either.

At any rate, I had jury duty yesterday and we didn't send anyone to the cot.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.
