    Hello DLDW. Thanks.

      Hello (again) DLDW.

"I wonder if the lack of blood in the body might have aided a stubborn ring's removal?"

Doubtful. Recall they left the appearance of being wrenched off.

      Cheers.

Well if it is any consolation, the fence is pointed more often than not. I would be much more inclined to have less sharp pains in the rear if I could pin down a t.o.d.

All that you say could be correct. But surely the doctors were practised in that area? Besides, Kate was rather dirty when found--at least, her clothes were.

"Or she'd just done some business and hadn't yet prepped herself for another round."

But how long would that take, given your scenario?

Wearing different hats? I KNOW that feeling.

(Occurs to me we are lucky to have a tolerant bloke to start this thread. We may be off topic?)

          Cheers.

Actually, I find it rather fascinating and after all, the purpose was to stimulate discussion. We are perhaps, though, concentrating on a particular topic a bit too much at the expence of others. Would someone like to start a separate thread for this? although I am a bit reticient to do so, since it usually kills an interesting discussion.

Which may be an indicator the murderer wasn't particularly gentle. I posed the notion because if the rings were fast on there it might have provided the needed give to be wrenched off.

The only way a doctor could state that there had been no sexual activity is if he had chosen to do a vaginal exam and found no semen. Given the timing, and the lighting and the state of the body, I find it slightly incredulous to think that they would have performed a vaginal exam in the middle of the square.

Depends on the lady. And I don't necessarily just mean a physical prep but a mental one as well. But I don't see her saying to a prospective client, hey I just got one finished off, do you mind waiting here while I go have a wipe. Another night is a bit better.

Many apologies and thanks. I started the 4 or more unreasonable? thread to be a place where nothing is off topic as anything could be perceived as an indicator to the in or exclusion of a victim. All may feel free to move or start a discussion there as opposed to starting a new thread. Apologies again.

                        What of the post mortem?

Fair enough. But some thinking gravitates towards no turn downs--desperate for money and such.

                        Cheers.

I covered that in my previous reply. Given that the post-mortem occurred almost 20+ hours after her last probable connection time, given a quick wipe and time passing, it is entirely likely there would have been no evidence of sex to be seen. Which is not to say it hadn't been had.

                          • I just wanted to list some of the better questions as, at least for me, these are worthy of another look:

1.What was Liz doing on Berner? ~ Lynn Cates

                            2. What were John and Kate doing when they first got back to London? ~ Lynn Cates

                            3. Where were John and Kate staying when they first got back to London? ~ Lynn Cates

                            4. How many killers? ~ Damaso Marte

                            5. Was the double event really such? ~ Digalittledeeperwatson

                            6. Did the killer write the GSG?~ Digalittledeeperwatson

                            7. What is the significance of the mutilations and organ removal? ~ Bolo

                            8. Did Jack kill any of the Torso victims? ~ Sdreid

                            9. Did Jack know any of the victims? ~ Sdreid

                            10. What brought Kosminski to the attention of the police? ~ Fleetwoodmac

                            11. Did the Lusk kidney really come from Eddowes? ~ Rivkahchaya

                            12. Did either PC Barrett or Mary Ann Conolly pick out the correct soldier? ~ Jon Guy

                            13. Where was Martha Tabram between midnight and 2am ? ~ Jon Guy

and an additional observation after reading these discussions came to my mind:

                            14. In consideration of Kosminski as the killer, who was known for 'self abuse' leads me to wonder if he were JTR and approached a prostitute, would it be for her sexual services? There being no evidence of these girls as having had sex during their last encounter then the conclusion is he would have to be there for murder only.

Since otherwise he was not known to be violent why DID they consider him a prime suspect, going back to question #10. in the list above.

As far the 'neat pile' found near to the body I would think if there was a struggle you would not have a neat pile as it would've been kicked about in the struggle, making me think it was set out after the murder by the murderer.

As for rifling and no money being found on the victims; then what of the reports the press made regarding Annie Chapman? The press claimed two farthings were found in the yard, but they are not mentioned in the surviving police records.

The local inspector of the Metropolitan Police Service, Edmund Reid of H Division Whitechapel, was reported as mentioning them at an inquest in 1889, and the acting Commissioner of the City Police, Major Henry Smith, mentioned them in his memoirs. It's said Smith was not a reliable historian as he embellished things but what of the statement by Reid?

                            • As opposed as the critical thinking

It's a pity that the French concept of "méthode hypercritique" has no real English translation yet.

Let's say it's a pseudoscientific approach, mainly used by negationnists.

It focuses on minor détails, for example the picture of the door of a nazi gas chamber, quickly compared to the door of an American gas chamber, and at the end of the demonstration, only a handful of Jews did catch a bad flu in Poland during WW2.

This method is currently marvellously illustrated on boards.

                              Cheers
