I have bought Stardust and will watch it later when the missus gets home from work and the kids are tucked up in bed.

I love DeNiro, and Michelle Pfeiffer is a fox, wonder if she still has her Catwomen suit?

Regarding Stardust, I saw it when I went to look for a DVD to rent yesterday. I'm pretty discriminating right now when it comes to rentals because I still have about a dozen movies that I've purchased to watch yet.

I don't know if my son's infantry platoon had any silly string. It was sort of heartbreaking when they'd be headed for dangerous areas and they would have to run the children off. Many of them would walk away crying.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

        Hi all,

Yesterday was the first time in my life that I did not bother watching that three hour bore fest called the Oscars. And I did not miss it at all.

I also have to add that in reading the newspapers I was amazed that few commented (here anyway) that Daniel Day Lewis has entered that select bunch of performers who won more than one Oscar. He won back in the
1980s for MY LEFT FOOT (about that writer/artist who was handicapped).
Now he's won for that film based on Upton Sinclair's OIL (another first - up till now Upton Sinclair's books have rarely gained any notice from the movie going public - even THE JUNGLE.

I watched the Oscars long enough to see Helen Mirren present the award to DD Lewis.

Stardust rocked! I've got a copy of Gaiman's other movie, Mirrormask, which I haven't seen yet--the trailers look great, but it hasn't gotten great reviews.

I wish they'd stop mucking about and film Neverwhere, already!

Lewis is a shoe-in for the Ripper. I think he is a wonderful actor, but I can easily see him in the role of the Ripper.

Is Neverwhere really going to be a movie? If so, I hope it is done right!

I gave up on the Oscars long ago because I don't see how you can always choose the best. There are so many qualities to consider.

Any new reports on the UFO front, in terms of personal experiences?

I'm sure Lewis would put in a fine performance as the Ripper but, to be as realistic as we could be, I think he'd be a little old. Maybe someone in their late 20s would be about right. We've already had a bunch of movies with old JtRs.

Speaking of flying critters, our local newspaper had a big article about Mothman the other day.

                    Stan,

I love the whole Mothman saga, what are your views?

                    Mass hysteria? Or genuine phenomena?

Didn't think much to the film though, Richard Gere (Grrrr)

                      Hi Mike,

I didn't think the film was too bad. The first I heard about Mothman was on a segment of the Unsolved Mysteries TV show.

My first guess would be that it was a hoax or hallucination. If it was for real, I have to believe it was extraterrestrial. I can't imagine anything like that being of this Earth. There is a supposed phenomenon of flying extraterrestrial beings of which I've seen some questionable videos.

It is a great fun story no matter what.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

                        Hi Stan,

I have a few of John Keel's books,

Many years ago I arrived home from school to find a big black bag on the dinning room table, my dad told me they were for me and a friend of his had given them to him for me.

The bag had lots of stuff by Keel, Von-Danikken, Berlitz and Moore, and many more. There was at least 40 paperback books, many 1st editions!

                        Mike
                        Regards Mike

Yeah, that was the only real drawback, Stan, his age. Otherwise, creep city.

Geese, I think. Bunches of them. How's Spot and the dancing tot and her big bro? What was the verdict on Stardust?

I saw Mothman and it was not too bad really.

I saw a rendition of Mothman on TV not too long ago. It might have been on MonsterQuest, I'm not sure. That show does have some good CG stuff sometimes as does UFO Hunters although that's about the only good thing I've seen in it so far. I'll give it another try tonight. It's supposed to be about flying saucers over some nuclear base.
