    Hi Celesta.

The Neverwhere movie has been in the works for years! Don't know why it's taking so long--a best-selling book and an equally successful TV series. What's taking so long ?!?

It's the same with "Good Omen"--it's on again, off again (I almost choked when I found out Terry Gilliam was attached as director. Terry GILLIAM directing Neil Gaiman! Sadly it fell through I'm still looking forward to that film too, though.

      Good morning all,

At 1 GMT the British Isles were hit by an Earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, its epicentre was only about 15 miles away and it was the biggest quake for 25 years!

I had been kicked out of bed by my daughter and had gone to my son's room that has a spare bed, as i went to lay down i felt the room shake, i just thought it was me moving and the floorboards, until my wife came in and she had felt it!

I got dressed and went out side to see what i could see, and almost everyone along the street was outside, with rumours rife on what happened.

The satellite has fallen said one, will there be a tsunami said another, i was concerned due to the location of a large BP plant and several other oil processesing plants which are in close proximity.

After 20 minutes Sky News carried reports, then local radio stations followed.
We went to bed afterwards, but i barely slept, this morning it is all over the television but luckily no one was seriously hurt.

A chimney stack fell on a 19 year old boy whilst in bed (never heard of a 19 year old in bed that early) and other minor damage but the shock was felt as far south/east as London, as far north as Newcastle.

I still have not watched Stardust yet, but might on Friday night when the kids are at their grandparents. The kids by the way are doing fine.
Bradley my 4 year old said this week his sister was like
"A Bull in a bull shop"
We took them to park on Sunday and whilst in the animal enclosure he yelled at an Alpaca (which looks like a Llama)
      "Dad, run its a lion!"
Alyssa is not scarred by her accident with the hot cup of tea, and yesterday showed me some new dance moves, i was very impressed!
I bought Spot a special hamster sandwhich and watched as he through it off the top floor of his cage into his little nest, then struggled to get under it to get into his nest.

      Mike

        Hi all,

The last notable quake we had here was a 5.0 around 1990. I was at work and stuff on the shelf next to my desk started falling over. When I got home from work, the only sign I saw was a stack of barbell weights in my basement. They were stacked straight when I left and when I got home they looked like the Leaning Tower of Pizza.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

          Mmm Pizza,

Anyway all is quite now, the fire brigade visited my son's school earlier to check on the roof structure and it passed inspection, but every hull based website is buzzing over it.

Oh. So it's not all that imminent then? I looked it up yesterday and saw bits of the series. Was it any good? i couldn't judge from what I saw. Apparently it's out on dvd. By coincidence, I recently started Good Omen. There are just some authors who don't let you down, aren't there? At least not much and not often.

What I would love to see is a movie of "To Say Nothing of the Dog." With the right actors and director, it could be great! In that story, the characters are to-ing and fro-ing between about the year 2050 AD and the Victorian Era, and the WWII era in London. Mostly it's in the Victorian Era. It's so funny.

Stan, I like the Monster Quest show, too. It takes a bit of a different approach, doesn't it?

I spotted a whole flock of those once when I was in Texas!

I gave up on the Oscars long ago because I don't see how you can always choose the best. There are so many qualities to consider.

Any new reports on the UFO front, in terms of personal experiences?
                  Hi Celesta,

I can just see the dialog - "I want your kidney and your milkshake!"

My favorite pair of Daniel Day Lewis performances were in THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS and THE AGE OF INNOCENCE. He also played a snobby, unsympathetic boob opposite Helena Bonham - Carter in A ROOM WITH A VIEW, but it was a supporting part in an early film.

Just heard Terminator 4 will be released in May 2009, and will star Christian Bale as Resistance Leader John Connor, I am so excited, i told the wife to book the day off work.

I just looked it up and it looks like the on-again/off-again project is ON-AGAIN!

The guy who directed "30 Days of Night" is on-board to direct, and Neil Gaiman is working on the script (based on the 2000 script from the first time the project was announced). Henson's company is doing the special effects and it should be out this year or next.

As for the series, it was pretty good. It follows the book almost exactly (not surprising, since the book is actually based on the series) and some of the casting is really good--Door, Richard Mayhew, and Vandermere and Croup are all perfect. The Beast of London parts are a little cheesy, and there's some needless repitition, but overall it's an enjoyable watch

Thanks, Magpie. That is good news about the movie, and esp. that he did the script.

I wonder if the DVD is available here. I'll see if I can find it.

Hi Jeff, Yes, I can see it, now, Mishter Lusk. The more I think about it the more I can see him as the Ripper! I didn't remember him in A Room With a View! But that's been years, so it's not surprising. He was good in the Mohicans.

                        Have a good 'un,

                          Hi all,

If a new Ripper movie was made, I hope it's all British actors since Americans can rarely get the accent right. Even when British do an American accent, they may be pronouncing the words exactly right but the rhythm seems to be off somehow which is distracting.

On UFO Files last night, it was mostly about Rendlesham. It was a little better than the stuff they've done previously.

Hi Guys, There is a new Ripper Movie on the way with the working title of

                            The Autumn of Terror

The gent responsible is a member of both these boards and the JTR Forums and has posted updates on both sites.

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with him on the Ripper Podcast, both threads are over on the Ripper Audio and Visual threads.

                              Hi Mike,

Why isn't that movie on IMDb, they have films on there with release dates all the way to 2013? Is this a regular movie, a documentary, animated or what?

Justin and his team are using state of the art Green Screen, Minitures, CGI, interior sets and actors to create Whitechapel.

The film will be shot in America (not sure of the exact location)

The film only has that working title at the moment.

It has not been logged with IMDB yet, although Justin will be doing so.

Several pages of script are on the JTR Forums.Com.

The film has funding but is only a small production.

It will Not reveal who dunnit, instead the killer will be shown from behind.

Several suspects will feature, in small roles.

                                Mike
