It seems like some MAGA Republicans have a couple of plots up their sleeves.
If Colorado gets their way by keeping Trump off the ticket to run for President, another Republican will run in his place, but name Trump as his vice-President running mate. Every Trump Republican can vote for that stand-in, if he gets elected, he will soon step down and hand the Presidency to Trump.
Alternately, if Trump ends up in prison, the Republican who wins the Presidency can pardon Trump.
There is also another rising group calling themselves "No-labels", who intend to run a Republican and a Democrat on the same ticket, one will be named for President, the other for vice-President. This group are selling themselves as the third alternative, but analysis of voting regions shows a third party to vote for would most likely put a Republican in the White House, and that could mean Trump.

US Presidents can only issue pardons for convictions in Federal Courts. That means if Trump is convicted in Georgia, he could not be pardoned by the US President. It would have to be done by the Governor of Georgia.

To someone raised in a country based on the Westminster System, the American system of government resides in Fantasyland (certainly not Tomorrowland). When will the, arguably, most powerful country in the world decide that their political system, which was enacted to favour slave owners, needs a transfusion into the modern world.

Actually, the Governor of Georgia can't pardon anyone. It's done by a State Board of Pardons and Paroles, and they don't have a good reputation for getting it done quickly, or even at all.
In the case of Leo Frank, who was lynched and whose innocence was proven decades ago, they have taken 108 years so far.

I do recall when Trump was President he was talking about pardoning himself, it came out that he could only pardon Federal crimes, not State crimes - I do recall that now, thanks.

If, for instance she were to marry one of the Trump boys, this side of the Atlantic would suffer a minor earthquake due to the continued laughter.
In fact, in this dour and fractured society we currently inhabit, someone walking round with the name "Fanny Trump" would bring the UK back together in a way no one else currently has the capability to do.
(And the Americans would largely be oblivious as to why...)
