The more slowly the vehicle was moving, the easier the target became.

The approximate place where the car would be slowed down must have been decided in advance.

By coincidence, around the time it slowed down, Umbrella Man raised his umbrella and Dark Complected Man raised his arm.

One of the SS men was Clint Hill and the other was either Lawton or Rybka.

It happened long before Greer accelerated the car, NOT afterwards.

That isn't what happened. One Secret Service man, Jack McReady, was called back after Greer accelerated the Presidential limo, which happened after the head shot to JFK. Lawton was in the car in front of Kennedy. From what I can tell, Rybka wasn't present.

      • Hi Cobalt. I have my own ideas, but what do you think the manual means by "The propaganda value of this system may be high."?
That a public assassination would have a more demoralizing effect on the targeted nation, or something else?

Pretty much what you say. It exposes a perceived weakness inside the targeted government while heralding the power of the opposition. What used to be called 'propaganda of the deed.' Such an act has just been carried out in Vietnam prior to JFK's assassination, from memory.

Still more credible than a group of strangers doing the same thing and ensuring that Oswald has no alibi, without Oswald or anyone else noticing him being spied on.

            • RJ Palmer,

My memory was faulty. Diem was not assassinated in public in November 1963. One of the most public assassinations I remember was that of Anwar Sadat who was killed during a military parade that was being shown live on Egyptian TV. That coup d'etat was not successful however.

              • I’ve just ordered this book which looks interesting.

Book Review:Blaine, Gerald and Lisa McCubbin. The Kennedy Detail: JFK’s Secret Service Agents Break Their Silence. New York: Gallery Books, 2010.

Clint Hill and others have contributed. It’s interesting to compare the authors view of Hill compared with the cold hearted traitor described by PI…

The majority of the book, of course is about the Dallas trip, the advance, the trip itself and the aftermath. These chapters are heart wrenching because of the anguish and feeling of having failed by the men of the Kennedy Detail. They had lost their man, and in their minds they had failed. Clint Hill seemed to take it harder , especially later in his career. He would serve for five presidents, retiring in 1975. His drinking and subsequent divorce caused by his depression had let him to the point where he could not pass the physical. It was not until a reunion of the agents in Dallas years later, the first time many had been back since 1963. Most, including Clint Hill concluded that every advantage lay with the shooter that day-there was nothing they could have done differently.

Human beings who’s side of the story should be listened to.

                Regards

                Sir Herlock Sholmes.

                  That IS exactly what happened.

You can see it on the video at JFK assassination: Secret Service Standdown

You can see Clint Hill, after having been called back by Emory Roberts, getting back onto the follow-up limousine on the left of the picture just before 1:00.

Sir HS comes up with some fantasist witnesses.
Brennan didn't say any of that.

Have you never seen the Zapruder film?

Kennedy was shot around 12:30. Clint Hill ran forward, pushed Jackie Kennedy back into the seat and barely hung on as the limo sped to the hospital. By 1pm, Clint Hill was calling a mortuary to have a casket brought to Parkland Hospital.

Also, several witnesses confirmed his gun was in his hand and out of his holster when he lay on the ground:

"Mr. BELIN - Did you notice where the gun of the policeman was?
Mr. BENAVIDES - The gun was in his hand and he was partially lying on his gun in his right hand. He was partially lying on his gun and on his hand, too....
...he [Callaway] was reaching down and getting the gun out of the policeman's hand"

CALLAWAY: "The people wonder whether he ever got his pistol out of his holster. He did.
Mr. BALL. The pistol was out of the holster?
Mr. CALLAWAY. Yes, sir; out of the holster, and it was unsnapped. It was on his right side. He was laying with the gun under him."
