So, she may have been rolled.
Yes, I´m aware of that. What I fail to see, though, is how her killer managed to get her down on her right side, and then roll her over on her left side, with no mud attaching to either front or back ...

To my mind, that right hand side mud was probably transferred there by the killer.

    All the best,
    Fisherman

PS. Noticed that Observer was quicker off the mark than I was.

      Fair enough point, gents.

Could be that she lifted herself to twist and turn by lifting her back briefly from the ground.
I do believe though that the whole point was to keep her tipped on her left side when the throat was cut.

The doc (Blackwell? Phillips? Can´t remember which of them) was fairly adamant that she would have been incapacitated to move around, so I don´t think she was able to lift herself up the way you suggest. It would require quite a lot.

If the Ripper was her killer, then I agree about the tilting, though.

        All the best,
        Fisherman

          cachous

Hello Ausgirl. Cachous are little mints for the breath.

I agree with you about the spillage. (See my reenactment.)

          Cheers.

            spillage

            Hello Jon.

".... they were also scattered all over the yard, and in the gutter."

Yes, AFTER the doctors spilled them and admitted to it.

            Cheers.

              Es geht immer weiter.

              Hello Christer.

"Plus the evidence tells us that she was not rolled over on her side. She went down on her side and stayed on it throughout, judging by the mud evidence."

Absolutely. I can't believe we are still discussing this basic point after all these years.

              Cheers.

Not necessarily, Lynn - cachous are also so called sweetmeats, mildly scented candy pastilles that were NOT specifically made to better the breath.

                    Hi Lynn

Some must have been spilled during the altercation as they were scattered all over the yard and in the gutter. The Docotor`s assistant possibly responsible for the ones in the gutter.

                      Hello Christer. Thanks.

That's true enough. But the ones I have seen of that kind would have been crushed if gripped between the fingers.

                      Cheers.

There's no evidence that the cachous were spilled during the attack. Blackwell testified that the were nearly open when he found them in Strides hand and that he spilled them while taking the packet from that hand.

U-huh. Well, then I´ve seen other kinds, Lynn. And marketing sweetmeats that crumble under the pressure between fingers seems an odd business idea to me ...
