    Thank you for the thread!!

As a lifelong film fan I thought this might be a fun place to post lists of our favorite films broken down by genre, as it's so hard to just name your 10 favorite films. I hope these lists will get people talking, enjoying memories and maybe most important open our eyes to films we have not seen.....now, where should we begin? , Horror, Comedy, Action, Western, Silent, Noir, Adventure, Crime, Fantasy, Mystery, Romance….. how about a category for films that really fit no particular genre? The list doesn't have to be top 10, you can name as many or as few as you like.

I’ll let someone else decide where to begin and then I will play along..

Hope to hear from you soon

    Steadmund Brand

      Hi Steadmund

Just a quick post to make sure that Bartleby starring Paul Scofield is mentioned.

            Hi Robert,

I do not choose to not include "Bartleby" with Paul Schofied.

While we are at it include Peter Ustinov's excellent "Billy Budd" and John Huston's "Moby Dick".

Thank goodness someone else loves "Portrait of Jennie".
I have been talking up this wonderful movie for years, with mixed results.
Many eyes glaze over when I give a rough synopsis of the plot.

It is available on Amazon for £2.90.
Go on, give it a try!

In Green for Danger there is a bit where a doctor says something like "Actually with nitrous oxide, it's the impurities that cause the laughter" and Sim says that the same thing applies in the music halls.
