I quite like making a pumpkin soup with the innards of the scraped out Halloween decoration.Originally posted by Herlock Sholmes View Post
Hi c.d.
I talked to an American friend earlier this year and he was quite surprised that I’d never actually eaten pumpkin. Does anyone from the UK ever eat pumpkin?
It's a once a year thing though.

We used to grow them. I think the reason they're not common is as they grow like weeds - very quickly, taking over everything. This is why they're grown in huge patches. I reckon Britain is a bit small for this and we prefer other crops. Can't remember if I ate it but I'm sure I did.Originally posted by Herlock Sholmes View Post

My mother made pumpkun pie for Thanksgiving, but used the canned pumpkin. I like pumpkins in pies, but rarely have it otherwise. I'm in the US.Pat D. https://forum.casebook.org/core/imag...rt/reading.gif

There are a lot of recipes on the internet. Or failing that you can buy them. A lot of grocery stores here in the U.S. have them. People also sprinkle raw (store bought) seeds on salads. Very nutritious. They are also very big with baseball players here in the U.S.Originally posted by Ms Diddles View Post
Ooooh, I'm going to try this!
