I was actually undecided Roger. “Shall I go with Hawkwind or the Grateful Dead,” so I went for the UK version.

Interviews where the interviewee says "That's a Good/Great question..." And often it's every other question. Aren't they ALL supposed to be GOOD questions? How often do you hear "That's a STUPID question", even if it IS such?

What bothers me is the interviewee saying "That's a Good/Great question..." and then NOT answering the question.

With the risk of being political, but very much an irritation, Donald Trump seems to give interviews regularly, but only to people who ask the questions he wants, in the way that he wants, and then don't point out that he hasn't actually answered the question anyway.

This irritation can be aimed at anyone who behaves like this, but Trump is the example we all recognise.

Yes, I think I could haver made my point better than I did! I am irritated by people who will only be interviewed by selected individuals, and then choose their own agenda anyway, and Trump is one example of this, and was chosen because we all recognise this from him, but there are others less well known.

I recall an interview where the response to a difficult question was something like, "with respect, that isn't the question we should be asking ourselves at this time. It would be more appropriate to ask ...", and then gave his own totally irrelevant question which he chose to answer in great detail.

I really see no difference from your example than the many that have come before and will come after , its the nature of public office the world over . Dont sweat it .

I'm by no means a Trump fan, but honestly that was more usual than not with politicians of all stripes and at all levels WAY before Trump. (Remember Bush 43? Or Agnew?) The Donald has just brought it back to being The New Normal, and more importantly, we have allowed it without much complaint. (Constant griping, but not serious complaining.)

Sorry. Please excuse my political rant for the week.
