yes they were. the ancient greek philosophers, mathematicians and political leaders and warriors were amazing.

however epicurus was active during the pagan years of greek mythology so is this god stuff an anachronism? they beleived in gods.

Hi Tani - I'm probably biased as I grew up watching the early Doctor Who episodes but I do agree with you.

Second Doctor Patrick Troughton was a fine actor and rarely gets the credit he deserves for making a success of the reincarnation which is now such a regular feature but had never been anticipated when the series was first written and produced. Had he flopped, that would have been it.
