I was saddened to hear the lead off the roof of Blaydes House had been stolen at the weekend!! This coincided with some of the worst weather we have ever had, serious down pours and strong winds!
The water seeped into the building and almost damaged the library area, luckily the quick thinking actions of Jo Affleck, and several members of the Ghosttrackers team, averted disaster, by moving all the boxes and books from the affected areas!!
Tonight we have a double investigation at two private residences!!Regards Mike

I'm sorry to hear about the building. The pictures I saw made it look like a well tended place. I hope they can get a roof on it quickly or it really will be in trouble.
On TAPS last night, they visited the speak-easy, Moss Inn or something to that effect, where the famous blue lady ghost is supposedly seen. It turns out that the place was wired with all kinds of gizmos to make it seem haunted. The manager didn't even bother to tell Jason and Grant about these things. They discovered a pneumatic device in the ceiling, over the bar, that made the lamps over the bar start rocking and moving. They discovered a device in the women's bathroom that piped in spooky laughter and a spooky mask behind the mirror. It was disgusting and Grant actually fell and nearly broke his ankle trying to figure out what kind of device they had up in the ceiling in the hallway outside the bathrooms. The manager even told them that eerie female laughter was heard in the bathroom and said nothing about the piped in laughter that was activated whenever someone opened the bathroom door. It was thoroughly disgusting, and Jason was furious. Now, Ive done gone and spoiled the plot for you, Mike, but you'll no doubt get more out of the original. This is the second time they had someone in California try to bogus-up one of their investigations.
Best..

Steps are in place to ensure the building is taken care of. Insurance firms have paid out already to have the roof fixed and scaffold is already in place. It beats me how they got up there, the building is pretty high!
Blood, fingerprints and other momentoes were left behind and the scenes of crime (CSI) are pretty excited they will get a conviction.
Last night we did two private homes in West Hull, both were very active and a report is due to go on the ghosttrackers site very soon.
There are people out there who try it on, at least the TAPS group got to the bottom of it.Regards Mike

Hi all,
I am quite lazy these days, as our weather has just gone into the high 90s in New York and Metropolitan area. Have to go to work, but it is hard to get into the swing of things.
I have only one iterm of interest to mention (since Mike and Celeste are talking about houses - albeit ghostly visitations). Alexander Hamilton's home up in City College's campus in upper Manhattan was moved to a nearby park. Finally they are going to treat it properly and make it a museum in honor of our first Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton lived in the "Grange" for only two years (1802 - 1804, when he was killed in the duel with Burr). It's a two story buttermilk yellow mansion. It should turn out to be a nice historical house museum.
There are other historical houses in upper Manhattan: The Dyckman house at 192nd Street (I believe) is an old farmhouse from the American Revolution, which includes a cabin used as a barracks. It's not that many blocks away from one of my favorite museums - the Cloisters, which specializes in medieval art and history. Then there is the Jumel Mansion -which is supposed to be haunted!
Madame Jumel was a woman (supposedly an ex - prostitute) who captivated and married Mr. Stephen Jumel, a wealthy farmer, in the early 1810s. Shortly afterwards Jumel died under odd circumstances, and his money and farm went to Madame Jumel. One of the richest women in New York City in the Era of Good Feelings and the Jacksonian period, in 1835 she married former Vice President Aaron Burr. It didn't last - she divorced him when it was shown he was guilty of adultery. Supposedly the ghost of Mrs Jumel and possibly her husband (but not Burr) has been seen in the house in Morningside Heights. By the way, the house was the headquarters (briefly) of George Washington during the battles around New York in 1776 (or at least so I heard).
Best wishes,
Jeff

The peeping alien film is the funniest thing this year! I hear the on the audio loop he could be heard saying "Vote Obama"
A new TV channel has started in the UK, Paranormal Channel is available on SKY TV at 212 and is so far pretty impressive.
Last night's launch saw a double bill of "Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World", and a double bill of Michael Aspel in "Strange but True"!!
I was in heaven!
There was a couple of horror films on late, but by then it was too hot and there was a program about the Hull Floods, last year on BBC1 so we watched that!!
The station is run by Antix productions which belongs to Yvette Fielding (boo)Regards Mike

Hi Mike,
On that channel, are they going to rerun One Step Beyond/Alcoa Presents?
Yes, vote for Obama and change. If he gets in, that's all you'll have left in your pocket.
I notice that Obama on spell check comes up ABM. I wonder if that's another sign like Iraq Husein Osama. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

Hi all,
I liked ONE STEP BEYOND - Didn't agree with the stories, but they were presented in a suitably creepy manner and John Newland was a highly interesting host. It was supposed to be revived in the 1970s (with Newland hosting again) but the project never succeeded.
Now there is more controversy about the moving of Hamilton's home to that park. A society of Hamilton fans want it's front door to face the grass of the park. But the intention of the restoration committee was to have the doorway face the sidewalk - to make it easier for tourists to enter it. A judge is going to decide soon, before it may damage the house.
Best wishes,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I hate to see something like that moved. It just isn't the same but it's better than tearing it down no doubt.
When I first watched One Step Beyond, it was new and called Alcoa Presents. It was one of those programs that was a topic of discussion at school the next day with the likes of Twilight Zone. The Alcoa Presents show was the one we all believed was "true". If they ever reran the program, I bet they wouldn't show the one where Newland did "shrooms" at the beginning of the episode and started hallucinating. It was supposed to be some experiment connected to ESP. I don't remember them ever doing anything connected to flying saucers. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

I have not seen the show in the listings yet but it is still early days for the channel. Last night was full of horror related stuff and we switched over to watch "The F Word" with Chef Gordon Ramsey!
Historical buildings should not be moved! Before long their history is forgotten and they become just another old building!Regards Mike

Hi Stan and Mike:
Stan I don't recall seeing the shows about experiments with drugs - I saw the show in reruns in the 1970s. Despite skepticism, I enjoyed the eerie feelings that were thrown out by the episodes. Also a lot of well known character actors were in episodes (William Shatner, Donald Pleasance, David Opatashu, Charles Bronson among them).
I agree that moving an old building is chancy, but I saw the Grange on the campus of City College - nobody thought of turning it into a living historical house museum - it was crushed between other buildings on the campus. It really needs to be in a seperate park, even though it is not the original location (from what I have read, Hamilton's home was originally designed as a country retreat where the two wings faced the Hudson and Harlem Rivers without anything blocking the views. That, unfortunately, is no longer possible.).
Mike, I looked over the site and left a message. Good luck, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Nothing actually from the Bounty at Blaydes, but then it's remains are underwater at Pitcairn Island.
Best wishes,
Jeff

Hi Jeff and Mike,
Tonight on MonsterQuest they did ghosts. There were some interesting shots of ghosts floating across the battlefield at Gettysburg. Most of it was an investigation of the strange goings on in Lizzie Borden's house. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.
