  • Hi Stan,

    I missed Monster Quest.

All they showed was a simulation of the hole that was created. I want to watch the rerun of this show, if they show it this weekend. Tom never mentioned whether he found the Infrared Clinometer.

Surgery's tomorrow. I printed out Rob's article on Ann Austin to read while I wait. It's nice and long and the case intrigues me. Ought to keep my mind well occupied. My worst fear is that the cancer has spread more than these doctors think.

    See you soon.

    • Fingers crossed for your brother, were thinking of you Celesta!

Here is something weird, no not snaps of me naked, but a rather unusual "Rod" or "mothership" seen in southern England!

      • Thanks, Mike!

I just got home. The surgery went fine. The doctor was happy with the way it went, which is always a good sign. He sent tissue to pathology but won't have the results of that until probably Tuesday or Wednesday. The margins around what he removed were checked immediately and those were clear. He says that if the cancer spread to more than one lymph gland then they would do radiation. If not, then they would discuss not doing it. So that was all well and good. Unfortunately about 3 hours after surgery, my brothers neck swelled up literally to the size of a football and he started bleeding right through the incision in his neck. They had to rush him back down to the OR. This was apparently a situation of a blood clot breaking loose from a blood vessel. He is stable now, at least as far as I know at the moment. This was Emory Hospital which is very well known and is a very good hospital. So my brother should be in good hands. They responded to the emergency instantaneously, and his own doctors were the ones who took him back to OR.

Whew! What a day! Up at 3:30 AM and over at the hospital at 6:30. Our poor dog went all this time without a bathroom break. Poor girl was freaking out. My husband and I are dead on our feet.

I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and your support. These have meant so much to me and to my brother and sister-in-law. I will give more updates when I get information. There is much relief here so far.

        Best,

        Cel

        • It's kind of hard to say what's going on with that video. It looks like they're slipping an extra lens over the camera lens. Kind of strange. That object looks like a board or plank.

          • Hi Celesta, glad it went ok, and fingers crossed for the results.

The sighting had several other witnesses in an around the area, who have come forward, involving a police officer, so I am not sure what it could be.

            • Thanks, Mike. He's doing well. To my amazement he could talk this morning. Imagine losing a quarter of your tongue one day and being able to carry on a conversation the next day. The doctor gave us a little talk, yesterday, on how very resilient the tongue is. So things are much better than we feared back in December.

That object looked like a big board, but it must have been fairly large, don't you think? I'm going to do some searches on it.

I was approached today to write songs, for a very talented young lady, who is on the pub and club scene at the moment. I wrote my first song aged 8, and pretty much kept on writing until a few years ago, instead turning my attention to JTR, so I was thrilled to be asked.

I have written two romantic ballads with her voice in mind already!
                Regards Mike

                    • Hi gang! Hope you all had a wonderful valentines day, alone, or with someone! Personally, I prefer Halloween, but that's just me!
I got a card and some gifts, but the night was a wash out. On Friday we had no kids, but after eating tea, the wife fell asleep.
Last night we had the kids, put them to bed early and...yep, she fell asleep!

                      Were not talking!

Anyway, the old ticker has been playing up, random beats, shortness of breath, and I am giving it until lunchtime to sort itself, otherwise I am off to hospital.

                      Hope all is well.
                      Regards Mike

Mike-All the best and take care.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

                        • Hang in there, Mike. Let us hear from you when you can. I used to write songs and poems, too. It's been a while since I did either.

Stan, Thanks. It's very good news.

                          • Hi all,

Celeste, I'm glad that your brother is okay. And talking (that is good news - he will be on the road to recovery).

Mom is really better. Yesterday, for the first time in nearly a month, she went to get her hair done, went grocery shopping, and we went (with a friend) to dinner at a restaurant. She is not feeling any effects of the sciatica attack, so it must be out of her system.

Nothing to report about Valentine's Day, but that is not unusual for me.

My sister and nieces are here until Wednesday.

Best wishes to all - and Mike try to write some lyrics to show what you can do. You got me curious now.

                            • Hi guys, I wrote a couple of songs over the weekend, working on some more this week, but it's school holidays at the moment, so I have some stuff planned with Bradley. We love museums, and will be visiting them all this week!
