Well, we've gone through the book correcting small errors and updating some chapters with new information that's come to light since the first edition. There will also be a few new photos and hopefully the photos that were reproduced badly will be fine in the new edition.

Philip is currently doing a book about the Whitby photos which will be released in the next couple of months. There are some more photos of the backyard in Hanbury Street but no other historical murder sites (that we know of anyway).

      Thanks Rob,

Was the mistake in the text Caz's fault? If so I forgive her because she is rather lovely!

      Regards,

      Ash

I believe the word should be "unputdownable", but I'll go check the OED.

I should state that, with Rob's usual modesty, he didn't mention that nearly all the corrections in the new edition are down to HIM because he knows a lot more than I! He did the knowledge, I sorted the typos. I've done some work on the photos that didn't turn out so well in the original edition, both Rob and I have taken some more recent images of places that require them through environmental changes in the last two years and Rob has found some rather nice old photos that are more relevant than some we used first time around. You'll actually get to see the house where Ada Wilson was attacked, for example.

Looking forward to the new edition and hope it goes really well. Did the facebook group help then?
              Regards Mike

Hi Mike. It's impossible to know for sure, but I suspect it did have a small bearing as they agreed to do a second run some time after I'd informed them of the Facebook group. It was part of the pressure that made them think again, so you can consider yourself as most definitely playing a part in a Second Edition being printed. Thanks are not enough, but that's what you're going to have to accept, so there!

I had this book and it was great in helping me realise the proper places and locations - used it to visit several areas thankyou guys - and then oddly enough sold my copy to Phil on ebay!

Superb book and congratulations to both authors - and I'm not just saying that because Philip signed my copy in Mitre Square after a marathon tour of ten murder sites!

Looking forward to the next edition - where are you going to sign that one for me, Philip?

                        Yes, it is, Philip.

And a big public "Thank you" from me and the other family members for an excellent tour. We are really looking forward to doing the ghost tour with you shortly - will be in touch.

Is the new edition of your book out yet, Philip?

There's a review in the EAST LONDON ADVERTISER I've been told. The publisher says it's back so I guess that it is indeed available again. Rob nor I have seen copies, though!

Who, exactly, is this Philip Hutchinson I keep hearing about?

Here's the cover for the new edition. Basically the same as before with some adjustments. And it should be available any day now.

There's not many books out there that I would purchase a second time, just because a new edition has been released, but this is definitely one of them!

I shall keep an eye out for it, for sure!
