No, BS Man was just some bloke staggering home from the pub who gave Stride a whack and kept walking. I'm in the process of formulating a theory that the actual murderer was Diemschutz who objected, for some as yet unknown reason, to Stride feeding his horse with grapes and breath fresheners.

Woolf Wess
Hello Lynn
According to this site:-
http://libcom.org/history/wess-woolf
William Wess had no connection with the Tobacco industry until the beginning of the 20th Century, when he took up a position as a book-keeper.
Tongs in plenty of other fires though!
All the best

Hello Michael
A connection to tobacco was present at the time Dave, some of the cottagers were cigarette makers, and we know about Goldstein.
There are thousands of tobacco outworkers all over LOndon
All the best

What do we know about Goldstein? That somebody of that name and William Wess belonged to the same Trade Union (in 1891), which by 1888 had 7,400 members in the metropolis? That 15 years apart they both had connections with the Tobacco Industry? Or do we have something more please?

We know that on the night in question that Leon was walking in the direction of the club, past the locked front door towards the gates..while carrying empty cigarette cartons in his black bag. And just inside the gates were cigarette makers in the cottages that stated they were awake at the time.
Sorry!
