Yes, sorry for missing that obvious point. I clearly haven't thought things through properly! Mind you, to be honest I thought it was a bit of a long shot!

Most important question is this, how on earth would they ever be able to base a movie on the 'evidence' of the shawl?

First issue would be tying Amos Simpson into the plot, as there seems to be no concrete documentation to put him anywhere near the scene.
I for one feel pretty confident that no 'A-list director ' (quote RE) would waste their dollars on such a huge gamble.
Amanda, this will be The True Story of Jack the Ripper. You won't need evidence for that.

I do like the idea of Shawl, my Arse except that it brings to mind the discredited notion of the Royle conspiracy.

They could get away with it if they used stealth helicopters.

          Aah, Mr.B,

You've ruined my ipad, I've just spluttered coffee all over it!!

Love the cast & the title, all we need now is Peter Stringfellow in the role of Daily Mail editor.....

            Sorry!

I know where you can get a new one at a knock down price - a little shop in Toynbee Street. Any colour you like, so long as it's red.

Love your county, BTW. I've spent many a happy hour rambling on Wenlock Edge and The Long Mynd.

Ah, but I don't think stealth technology became readily available until at least 1890. However the possibility of a stealth prototype...

And Amos Simpson was at the cutting edge of technology. After all he got from Cheshunt to Mitre Square in no seconds flat.

                  Thanks Mr.B,

I'll pop down to Toynbee Street tomorrow, fancy a few black jelly beans too...

Ah, Wenlock Edge, perfect place for a good ramble. I'm near the Wrekin..

Seriously though, does anyone on here believe that JL & RE are going to face the inquisition into the findings by Chris & the others?
I don't even think the conference in November will enlighten us much, as the wording on the invite sounded as though the questions were going to be pre- prepared.

Yes, perhaps he used a 19th C moped or motorbike of his own design.

I am quietly confident that both JL and RE will concede that they may have made some major mistakes, resulting in premature and over optimistic conclusions. I predict that this will result in RE offering a full refund to anyone who has bought the book and JL retiring to the Swiss Alps to enjoy the quiet life of a dairy farmer.

                        Hi John,

So that'll be about 300 quid RE needs to fork out & a couple of Freesians in compensation for JL.

                          Hi Amanda,

I'm sure that RE can afford it following the success of his "exciting" book! If not, he can always write a sequel in which he argues that Kosminski is an absurd suspect, with virtually no evidence against him, and that it is obvious that JTR was really George Hutchinson! Maybe he could call it Case Reopened: Case Closed, Again!

                          Cheers,

                          John

I think it's much more likely that he will blame momentary dyslexia & got his spellings of Kosminski & Koslowski mixed up..

Ah, well, based on RE's claims there's still hope for the other two dozen JtR suspects to claim their five minutes of fame.
Who knows, Trevor might even be able to relaunch his Feigenbaum theory...

We've already heard that RE and his 'forensic team' are going into the cold case business - is Amanda really Detective Chief Superintendent Sandra Pullman of UCOS?

I fully expect the cases of every Ripper suspect ever to be re-opened by the team but finally the team will operate by stealth and establish beyond doubt that, had Mr Spock not got there in time, the Klingons would have ripped every woman in London. Something I've argued for years but, without a DNA expert, could never make stick.

Hollywood will thrive for generations on the output.
