However, when I display the map, I no longer have access to the + and - keys to zoom in or out. Is this normal?
    Try it now, Charlie.
I have made the window shorter so the + and - buttons should show up in the bottom right of the window.
    Let me know
(I assume you're not using a mouse (maybe on a tablet or laptop?) but with a mouse, you can use the scroll wheel to zoom in/out.

      Thanks, Richard,
Now the + and - buttons appear at the bottom right . It's much more convenient, because, yes, I work on a laptop.

        Brilliant, thanks
and thanks for the feedback and query about the missing +/- buttons. I want the map to be accessible on all devices and I forget sometimes about these things.
        thanks again

            Woolf Wess: I reside at No. 2, William-street, Cannon-street-road

I have added Woolf Wess to the map but can't locate Morris Eagle's house on New Road (No.4) because the British Library website (maps is still down for that particular map. Can someone screenshot where No.4 New Road is?
              thanks

                Thanks Richard.
Not sure about Eagle's house location. He possibly took the same route as PC Smith, to get to Leman St police station.

What is the most likely address for Aaron Kozminski?

                  A few more names I don't see ...

                  John Richardson: 2, John-street

Albert Cadosch [Cadoche]: I live at 27, Hanbury-street

Edward Spooner: I live at No. 26, Fairclough-street

                  Dr. G. W. Sequeira: 34, Jewry-street, Aldgate

George Morris: night watchman at Messrs. Kearley and Tonge's tea warehouse, Mitre-square

Joseph Lawende: I reside at No. 45, Norfolk-road, Dalston

Although 253 Whitechapel Road is already on the map, perhaps add a reference to the 'Coram knife'.

Thomas Coram: I live at No. 67, Plummer's-road, and work for a cocoanut dealer. On Monday shortly after midnight I left a friend's house in Bath-gardens, Brady-street. I walked straight down Brady-street and into Whitechapel-road towards Aldgate. I first walked on the right side of Whitechapel-road, and afterwards crossed over to the left, and when opposite No. 253 I saw a knife lying on the doorstep.
                  [Coroner]
What is No. 253? - A laundry. There were two steps to the front door, and the knife was on the bottom step.

Perhaps also a reference to Der Arbeter Fraint offices.

I'll add these (if I can find the locations on the map)

Can you give me the coordinates or an idea where Maryann Street is on the map?

                          Hi Richard,

A Google search threw up this result.

If it is the correct street, it seems there was a name change and the street no longer exists and was outside the extent of your excellent map.

                          Regards, Gary
Why a four-year-old child could understand this report! Run out and find me a four-year-old child, I can't make head or tail of it.

According to an article by Robert House, "It may, incidentally, be fair to guess that Aaron lived at the 3 Sion Square address in autumn of 1888, as this was his residence when he was admitted to Mile End Old Town Workhouse less than a year after the series of murders ended."

Maryann/Mary Ann Street ran East to West, and was located between the Pinchin Street arch and Dutfield's Yard.
