Not sure. I'll have to go and have a look tomorrow morning. Let you know what I find out.

      Bucks Row Map 1873

      Hi All,

In the Photo Archive is an 1873 map of Bucks Row.

Does anyone have a higher-res version?

      Many thanks.

      Regards,

      Simon

        Hi Simon

The 1873 Godfrey edition is readily available extremely cheaply to order online or in the shops. However, if there is a specific area you're keen on seeing let me know the limits of it and I'll scan it in for you and e-mail it if you PM me your address.

I am afraid that the remains have been knocked down. I thought their survival was likely to be only temporary. The material into which the words were cut was, I think, stone - but I suppose there is no way of knowing now for sure.

          Shame.

Photographing London and the War on Terror

              Hi all,

This morning I read a story about a guy whose camera was confiscated by the police when he attempted to photograph Spitalfields Market.

              Read the tale here:
Yesterday, I met my friend (and editor) Patrick Nielsen Hayden for breakfast at Spitalfields Market, our local Sunday market here in London. Spitalfields has been around for centuries, and it's…

Apparently, its now take photographs at your own risk. Sad.

Must be something up with my PC, Mark. All I see is an extremely dim image and a web icon on the right telling me it's prohibited.

Never mind. I thought it was evocative.

May have been worth a shovel out and dahn East to get some Ten Bells pics etc in the snow....

...I got up and took some pics of 'the garden' etc and thought s** that went back to bed and then started compiling the 'Dids with Ripperologists' famous pix file and yes! you're in there!!!

Then I toddled down to Tesco to mingle with some SERIOUS 'minglers' then came home and here we are!
