Rocky there is something regarding some timing going on here. I was listening to the news reports (I live in Queens, which with Brooklyn are the two New York State Counties - Brooklyn is a "borough of New York City as is Queens, an unofficial "4th largest city in the U.S." by population and being a former independent city, and the state of New York's County named "Kings" - which form the eastern western parts of Long Island). When I listening they said that the FBI was wanted on the case from nearly the start, but the police in Suffolk County insisted on doing it by themselves.

The timing issue is this: The head of the Suffolk County Detective Squad has been arrested and charged with several crimes including assault on a prisoner and interference with a criminal investigation (brought on by the prisoner against him - he was trying to not only suborn perjury by three of his officers but apparently to have one of them kill the prisoner with a drug overdose to make it look like the prisoner did it). The arrest of this bozo included the tidbit that he beat up the prisoner because the prisoner was arrested for breaking into the detective chief's car, and finding a duffel bag containing pornographic material and sex toys.

As soon as this bozo was arrested and charged (and the case is so serious against this fellow, they have refused bail), the County Prosecutor announced that the FBI was being called in for the matter of the Long Island Ripper Case.

I know it may mean nothing, but has the case of this Long Island Ripper (who has targeted prostitutes) been "botched" up for the last five years due to some acquaintance of his (i.e. the bozo) who has a shared history of sex with prostitutes or worse? And hast his detention without bail been really connected with more than this Dtective Chief's shenanigans regarding his assaulting the prisoner?

Glad to hear the FBI is on the case. Hope they can solve it. Wish I could get to the conference to hear the latest information. Haven't seen anything new in awhile.

Yeah indeed rifkin didnt even use burlap bags and the new victims got killed while he was in jail. I got carried away and propaged misinformation thats real bad. I hope a mod can please delete at least part of my old message since i cant seem to edit it. Initially i meant to talk about the rifkin/owen connection. Burlap bags access and family implication on owens part with the public security sector.

Rifkins jailed, he didnt kill the new victims. Owen knew a serial killer tho..and has access to burlap bags. Small connection but still one nonetheless you know..


1.1-Rifkin killed and hes jailed.
1.2-Rifkin got an intership in l.i. at the l.i. arboretum with burlap bags but didnt use them.
1.3-A new killer has emerged. He uses some burlap bags.



2.1-Owen Smith is at the arboretum which has some burlap bags.
2.2-Owen Smith is not jailed and he knew Rifkins.
2.3-Owen Smith is the son in-law of a public security figure.


As for the victims well its been said, easy prey..Kim Raffo one the victims of atlantic city, well her ex-husband(Auslander) is in construction. Both also lived in Long Island. In construction burlap bags can and are used especially for cement buckets....The guy now lives near a beach in florida from my understanding. But of course hes been investigated so....i want to leave him in peace but as for Owen or maybe some of his collegues/employees of the arboretum in Long Island....theres the burlap connection and i can only guess that since hes the son inlaw of some cia chief, police didnt want to bugger him too much or maybe even his employees/collegues.

How do you know rifkin had access to burlap at the arboretum? I read that rifkin used Bissett nursery for his landscaping business, do you know if this is false? Bissett committed suicide and his nursery was said by locals to be searched in connection to the LISK case. I wonder why rifkin never used burlap, probably because his sources of burlap could be traced. There was a serial killer Allen Gormely 1990 Long Island killed prostitues and dumped in laundry bags. The LISK has been known to dispose of victims in laundry bags a number of times. I think gormely was caught because his uncles initials were in the bag.

Police made a grizzly discovery in the waters near a south Brooklyn park Sunday night — a floating hand.
Authorities responded to 911 calls of a hand found in a creek inside Calvert Vaux Park close to Shore Parkway and Bay 46th Street in Gravesend around 5:30 p.m., cops said.

Hmmm....the folks at Hanbury St were plying a cat's meat trade as well. Wonder if the two families knew each other? That could explain Mr. JTR feeling so secure taking a victim into the back yard.

Ripper suspect Wentworth Bellsmith was born in 1849 and interestingly enough was in London in 1873. Also Bellsmith left England in 1891 moving to New York.
Which puts him around at the right time for all the Torso Murders. I'm not saying he was the Torso Killer just that I consider him a suspect for the Torso Murders.

Bellsmith? I need to check him out! My own bid is of course Charles Allen Lechmere, the man who alledgedly "found" Polly Nichols, who gave his name as Cross to the police, and who seemingly fooled PC Mizen on the murder night. To add, his route to work took him past or close to Hanbury Street and Dorset Street. Plus he had lived in Pinchin Street, and had his mother was living in 147 Cable Street, a stone´s throw from the dumping site. And his mother was a cat´s meat woman, meaning that she had access to bone saws and such things. Incidentally, the route from his home to his mother´s place would take him past Berner Street, and Stride was killed on a Saturday night, Lechmere´s night off. And Eddowes died very close to Broad Street, where he had his working place. Which means that PC Long´s assertion that the apron was not in Goulston Street at 2.20 on the murder night may have an explanation in Lechmere going to Broad Street to deposit his trophies and wash up. After that, a brisk walk from Broad Street to his home at Doveton Street would easily take him past ... guess what? Yep, Goulston Street.

Not a bad bid, as Ripper bids go.

I see what you are getting at but it really depends on what of those are really the work of the killer.

Yes if he wrote letters, including Lusk, if he posed victims, if he planted the apron and/or wrote graffiti he was perhaps playing with the police.

But if he wrote nothing, the bodes were where they fell and facial cuts were just frenzy the playing with the police is nothing but an assumption.


However that applies to everything n the case.

It is truly the world's most maddening case! I got started with it in 2003 and it has driven me insane ever since.

p.s. I blame Hitler for all of it. If he hadn't been bombing London, maybe more records on the case would have survived!

Well, first of all I do think think Jack enjoyed his notoriety....and I feel that was a factor in the his mutilations "escalating".

I think he got a big rush from killing these ladies in the middle of big old London and no one caught him. Especially the police!

I think poor Catherine Eddowes' facial mutilations (clown-like) were meant to be a taunt of sorts.

I also think there is some kind of taunt/riddle behind the Goulston Graffito....if it is in fact related to the murders.

If one buys into the Eddowes kidney incident, then I do believe whoever the Ripper was viewed poor Mr. Lusk as an authority figure and hated him.

Dumping a body under the Scotland Yard construction site...that's just sending a great big PBBBBBBBBBT! to the police!
