So was our Dutch friend turned into a murderer by being spanked?

Or was he turned into a murderer by not being spanked?

This is a question for psychologists, not God Botherers.

Also, it's become known that she was an out lesbian, so what was her motivation for going back to his room? Joran has said he was high when he killed her, and it is known that he approached her after she won a lot at the casino. I am wondering if he lured her back there by saying he had pot, intending to drug her and rob her.

I still find the coincidence of the dates to be beyond comprehension.

He must have crazy game. An internationally known killer can seduce a lesbian into his hotel room and she stays even after googling him and having ample opportunity to flee. Wow.

Ah, but is it even the right question?

If we found that the vast majority of violent offenders were spanked as kids, and go on to spank their own kids if they have them, I wouldn't like to presume cause and effect.

I'd wager that the little ones who grow up to be vicious killers are often just the kind of kid who gives you ten good reasons a day to spank them.

        And there's the rub.

Forget the Bible. Give 'em a gardening catalogue - the good will grow roses for their local hospice and the bad will build potting sheds for torture and patios to bury the victims under.

        Love,

If we can get back on track here, Van der Sloot has now told the Peruvian police that he can give directions to where Natalie Holloway's body is, but that he only wants to give them to the police in Aruba. From what I've heard, it's not a confession that he killed her, only that he knows where she is. Interesting. I wonder- did they take GPS coordinates for future reference at the point where they dropped her out of the boat? I don't know how else he could pinpoint the exact spot.

I think it's another ploy mainly aimed at getting him out of Peru and back to aruba in the hopes he'll face "justice" there where he's got backers. (Although I do think after this latest news his sympathy factor has worn out for most of Arubans). This is the fourth time he's offered to give the "truth" about what happened and the second time in a month that he's offered to show where the body is, and the first time he lied for the cash. As for how would he know where the body is, it is possible that she was dumped in the swamp of Aruba as opposed to out to sea.

It is clear he wants to face justice in Aruba, or the U.S. for that matter.

Yes, it's christal clear that he loves to manipulate and that he's just trying, any which way he can, to reduce his punishment. I don't know if any of you have seen it, but now there's new footage of him leaving his room at about 8.35 am with 2 coffee cups, dwadling in front of his room, finally completely pulling the door shut, then immediately knocking on it, looking towards the camera and then fetching an hotel employee to open the door. It seems he's nervous, it seems he's aware of the camera and it seems he's trying to provide the police, even at that stage, with yet another c*ck-and-bull story.

If you wish to see this, here's a link: http://www.rtl.nl/components/actueel...t-in-hotel.xml (wait for the advertisement to finish).

So the police are now saying that they had met a couple of days prior to the murder, which totally kaputs his story that she suddenly felt the urge to google him and discovered his identity. If she was so inclined I am sure she'd have already googled him.

Which means one of two things. Either she knew who he was and was looking for INCRIMINATING evidence on his laptop, and suddenly after fooling him for two days, she forgot how to lie and claim she was just checking her email (doubtful) or the whole story is bullsht and his intention was to rob her all along.

Couldn't agree more. One might also wonder why she would join him to his room in the first place when she didn't trust him. Or why she wouldn't have closed the laptop and put it away the moment she heard the key in the lock.

                      .

I doubt if anything he's said about the whole situation is truthful. His attitude concerning Natalie, the way he's treated her parents....its apalling. I'm old enough now that nothing should really shock me anymore, but whenever I find an example of someone with no conscience at all, with absolutely no remorse, its just unbelievable.

What a couple of talking heads are speculating on over here is if PERU might not want to ship VDS to the States or to Aruba. There is speculation that considering the absolute hell holes that Peruvian prisons reportedly are, there is doubt about whether he would actually live to trial (which can take up to two years). Considering he is a high profile, international attention garnering suspect, they may choose to ship him off to avoid the PR disaster that might occur if he's killed in their custody.

The Peruvian officials have put Van der Sloot in a special wing of their infamous Castro Castro Prison, but they say that for his own safety he will be held in solitary confinement.

Obviously there will never be a point in time when he can safely be returned to the general population; the other inmates see killing VDS as a matter of "national honor" and they will never stop trying.

It's ironic that Joran has given himself the worst sentence of all, to live in mortal fear for the rest of his life, whether it is spent in prison or not...

He must realize that someone somewhere will eventually get him, and when that finally happens most of the world will view it as justice.

                          Best regards,

I don't understand why the FBI didn't come in and nail him after he received the extortion money from Natalee's mother. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't he use that money to go on this gambling trip to Peru? Its because of that this other girl is dead and that to me is inexcusable. They're going to backpedal and say that they had a weak case but its just another example of inaction which lets a murderer keep going. Typical.

According to what they are saying, they were trying to build a murder case against him. They didn't expect 5 years after the fact that he would suddenly snap and kill another girl, so they didn't consider there to be an immediate need to arrest him.

That of course makes no bloody sense to me whatsoever because they could have just as easily built a murder case against him while he was cooling his heels in jail on extortion charges.

I think they just thought it wasn't any real urgency as he was deemed unlikely to re-offend.
