When I was younger and sharing with friends, we'd view loads of properties before deciding which one we fancied. No problem.
Now I see queues with dozens of young folk standing outside crappy flats on crappy streets awaiting viewings, knowing that only one person will be accepted for the flat.
Companies who respond to complaints with "that is our policy and we can't change it." Well where did the policy come from you or God? If you, that means you can change it but are simply refusing to do so. Wankers.
Car alarms like the one going off outside my window right now and several times during the day today. Incredibly annoying. Yeah, I am going to drop everything I am doing and rush right down and investigate what is going on. Maybe I can help prevent a car break in or random vandalism. Nothing like risking your life for a stranger for no good reason.
Michael Moore (of the Roger and Me movie and others) had a tv program a number of years ago where they would try to get a little pay back for the common man. He and his film crew set up a car with an alarm in front of the home of the CEO whose company makes the damn things. They rigged it up where they could set it off in the middle of the night. Needless to say, he was not happy about it. Pretty funny.
Was out at Arlington National Cemetery today. Very hot and sunny day 90 degrees or so.
So in the nature of a Public Service Announcement (PSA) -- a number of people without hats. Not a good idea. A number of people with baseball style caps. Better but still a bad idea. Ball caps do not protect the side of your face, ears or back of the neck. Common sites for skin cancer. A Dermatologist who specializes in Mohs Surgery (skin cancer removal) calls them "job security." So, invest in a good sun hat that provides full 360 degree protection rated UPF 50 and dermatologist recommended. You might look a little dorky but that is a hell of lot better than going under the knife and getting a big scar on your face.
