The reason the murders seemed to happen so quickly had to do with relativity. From the aliens' perspective, they actually took a few hours, because the victims were beamed up onto the ships, and then beamed back down, along with any parts they didn't need.
Mary Kelly was used to test a beaming device that could penetrate solid objects, and place her back in her room, but she wasn't, umm, "reintegrated" very well.Comment
