Fox settled and Dominion accepted. It was just announced a few minutes ago.

I know, I'm waiting to see the terms of the settlement before I decide if I am irked or not. Or more precisely, how irked I am. I was dialed in listening on the line and I'm just like... That's 3 weeks of my life I have to fill now!! All the other trials currently getting press are boring.

If Dominion agreed to settle without a public admission of fault, they are stupid and short-sighted but it could be the payday is so big, they don't care. Maybe all their board is ready to cash out.

I hope Fox agreed to surgically remove Carlson's, Ingraham's, and Hannity's vocal chords.

NEW YORK – April 18, 2023 — FOX News Media announced today that a settlement was reached in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit.

In making the announcement, the network said, “We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects FOX’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards. We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues.”

Ah if only..... However....The fact that Fox "News" got sued before about Tucker Carlson's BS and their defense was "Nobody sane would believe anything Tucker says" basically proves that Fox does not care at all and they are just pandering to the delusional mouth-breathers and tinfoil hat freaks because they make bank pandering to the nuts. I seriously hope that this time, the financial hit is hard enough that they stop being such irresponsible ****wits, but what can I say.... I'm cynical and unwilling to believe people this far gone are capable of change.

But if we're voting on surgical mutism, there's a few more, I'd like to put up for consideration!

So Fox News is not required to make a public apology, nor even an acknowledgement of the fine imposed by the court.
May we expect the lies & deception to continue?
                Regards, Jon S.

I'd like to see them remove "News" from their channel name!

Yes. As well as the denials and excuses and cries of it all being rigged by their imbecilic followers.

Dominion was just the first in line suing Fox over their lies. Plus there are suits against several Fox hosts.

Yes, I heard there was a second business waiting in the wings to sue Fox for double the amount of Dominion - annus horribilis for the Murdoch's

Fox did acknowledge the settlement on their website, but strange as it may seem, it's tucked away and you'd need to search for it. It contains this closing paragraph:

"Then-President Donald Trump and his allies fiercely challenged Joe Biden's victory in the weeks following the election. Some of them, including members of his legal team, made false and unsubstantiated claims against Dominion Voting Systems and are the subject of separate defamation lawsuits"

Not that the truth makes any difference...

Damn. I really didn't see that coming. I hope he takes the opportunity to retire to his fishing paradise in Montana and we never hear from him again. He's done enough damage for one lifetime with his culture wars, but I imagine his ego will require that he saves faces by finding employment elsewhere. Not that most people don't already know this, but he's one of these 'elitists' who attended private schools but markets himself as a downhome man-of-the-people.
