I do like Cincinnati as well... but is it just me or is it impossible not to start singing the WKRP theme when you see the "Welcome to Cincinnati" sign...maybe it is just me.. who knows.

the driving is bad, not as bad as it is in Toronto....oh how I love the Q.E.W.

I am going to Cleveland again in November for a concert... driving can be bad there too, but not horrible... by the way, anyone in the Cleveland area should check out Joe Bonamassa in November...he is amazing and always puts on a fantastic show!!!

      Hello you all!

I have a faint memory about Kimberly (British Columbia) mentioning itself as a Bavarian city in the Rockies.

Any truth in it, does anyone know?

      All the best

Jukka, grab a tankard of beer and sing along to this one :

(Eng/Pol) Kimberley is a small city in southeast British Columbia, Canada. The city was named in 1896 after the Kimberley mine in South Africa. From 1917 to ...

Hey Jukka, I just remembered that the David Bowie exhibit that's currently wowwing them at the Victoria and Albert Museum is scheduled to be at the ROM next--maybe it'll coincide with your visit....

                Hello Magpie!

                Ok, see you possibly then!

I remember, that there is a Shakespeare festival in Stratford (of course! ), but obviously not around february-march 2014...

Sadly yeah, Stratford starts near the end of April. (Personally I think it's gotten a little overrated over the years--the Shaw festival seems to have a better selection)

On the other hand, Justin Timberlake will be performing in Toronto on Feb 14

                    Hello Magpie!

OK, sorry to hear. Me, an amateur actor...

But I do appreciate Justin for one thing; when he got punked, he stared at the camera saying: "Now you know, how stupid famous people are!"

If you're going to be in Ottawa in February, Winterlude goes on until the 17th - you can skate on the Rideau Canal and see ice sculptures and all that sort of stuff.

I'm surprised to hear people having a tough time using English in Montreal - it's very Anglo compared to more easterly areas. Your smattering of French would be appreciated, though.

BTW, I'm about as Canadian as you can get, but anyone who tells you that Tim Hortons coffee is good is on some serious crack.

Finally, I do not watch NHL hockey either - come to Toronto in April and check out the Blue Jays, who cannot POSSIBLY be any worse than they were this year.

                        Hello CPenney!

OK, thank you for your information. So, I have to take skates with me and I like to see ice sculptures.

Well, I have heard, that European school French is different to Franco-Canadien. I shall see...

Have to try Tim Horton's anyway.

My timeframe for the trip is February-March, but haven't made any definite decisions yet.

                          Hello you all!

I have visited all the sites of towns I have mentioned - except toronto! - and it seems, that the best option to make the trip in a month - or a month and a half - is by renting a car.

So, what is the most reliable and economically reasonable car renting company in Canada?

                            Hello again.

Thrifty usually has good rental prices but you may best be served using a website like Expedia.com or priceline.com to get a good deal.

again, let us know when the trip will be

Planned date for the trip is still February-March. The exact dates will probably be clear by early November.

Crossing the prairies from Ontario to British Columbia, you might want to consider travelling by train. Driving on the prairies can be very tedioius--very, very flat and huge. A friend of mine took the train to a wedding in BC and said it was a marvelous experience.
