It is important to target the correct demographic.

Vaccine hesitancy by education level (US).

High School or less - 20.8%

      Some College - 18.3%

      Bachelor's Degree - 11%

      Masters Degree - 8.3%

      Professional - 12.3%

      PhDs - 23.9%

So clearly it is the people with PhDs that are the "problem bunch", so perhaps when delivering your superior vaccine knowledge gained from (Fiery but largely peaceful) CNN best make sure you don't shout at them.

Or we can all just leave the medical advice between individuals and their GPs?

        Clearly?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau--(I know--part of the deep state!)--the percentage of the U.S. population with PhDs sits at a mere 1.2%

So if you are correct that 23.9% of them are hesitant to get a vaccine, that means that this 'problem bunch' represents less than 0.3% of the population.

        Wow.

I imagine this statistic sounded far more impressive when they were voicing it over on OAN or Fox.

          Wow indeed.

Keep forgetting you lot don't do humour.

No one is a "problem bunch" other than condensing, unqualified people giving medical advice to those perfectly capable of seeking it out themselves.

The last I heard, the American Medical Association reported that 96% of all doctors are vaccinated, so I think that those most qualified have already voted with their needles, but if you prefer to listen to those yammering on social media, be my guest.

But no, I admit that I don't find a lot of humor in pandemics.

I have an uncle--always thought he was a pretty smart guy; he married a science teacher and lives in a deep red state.

He likes to email anti-vax literature, anti-Fauci 'humor,' the usual conspiracy theories and worries about "experimental science," all the Fox News talking points, etc.

I mainly just ignored it all.

I learned yesterday he now has Covid as is in a hospital on oxygen. Due to living in a community of like-minded individuals, the hospital is so filled to the gills with other Covid patients, his bed was given to an even worse case and he was sent home.

I learned a couple of hours ago that he now has Covid pneumonia and it's not looking good. I can almost guarantee his symptoms would have been far more mild if he simply had taken the frickin' vaccine.

The vaccine doesn't make you immune, only likely to survive. Being college educated doesn't make you immune from making highly questionable decisions, either.

How can you almost guarantee that? A feeling in your water? A false equivalence of hospitalisations to vaccine status?

              What you going with?

I'll refrain from any "vaccine horror" anecdotes.

As we know from some of the Eton and Oxbridge scholars who go on to become our political leaders here in the UK, the very best education money can buy does not give immunity from being a selfish arsehole.

                      Hi Caz,

In Australia "being a selfish arsehole" is essential criteria for preselection for the right wing conservative political parties.

                      Cheers, George
