Travel The World From Your Own Home.

A friend of mine pointed out this site. It’s free and you can just follow a guide on a tour in places all over the world (UK included) The tours last for 45 mins to an hour and you can leave a tip for the guide if you want to. It’s great if you have an hour with nothing to do. I was walking around Monmatre last night and I’ve ‘been’ to Portugal, Canada, London, Oxford, Venice and a great one in Dublin based on the Easter Rising.

Herlock, this an absolutely cracking site.

It's almost too good to be true.

    Looking forward to exploring it.

    Thanks!

Yes, it does look interesting. How exactly does it work? Do you have to pay?

        Totally free c.d.

Just select a tour and off you go. You have an option to leave a tip if you want to. They will ask you to review the guide but that’s not compulsory either. It’s great.

It’s brilliant Barn. I just did a tour of the Dean Village in Edinburgh which is a UNESCO world heritage site. A village built by a mill owner. You’ve probably heard of it Barn, I can’t recall if you’re Scottish but I seem to remember you mentioning a link to Scotland? I’m off to Naples at 5.00 I think.

By the way, the friend of mine that recommended it is from the States and she gets a charge from her bank added to each tip (not sure how much but it’s not a lot) i’ve just checked with my bank and no charges have been added.

What information do they ask for when you create an account?

Just your name and email address, they send you an email and ask you to click a link in the email to confirm your application.

It all seems pretty standard procedure.

It does almost seem too good to be true, but I'll give it a bash.

Here is a nice review of the website that I came across. Note what she says about which browsers to use. Apparently Firefox is not supported.

Believe it or not, virtual tours are a super resourceful way to prepare for future travels, especially when you follow these pro tips inspired by Heygo’s free, real-time virtual tour offerings.
