A question for our pals across the pond...

After several evenings spent staring slack-jawed at the news, I'm happy to observe that it appears likely that Biden is finally about to edge his way over the finish line.

A peaceful transition is looking increasingly unlikely though.

I'm wondering if there is any possibility of the Liar In Chief being charged with Inciting a Riot (or something similar)?

His baseless allegations of voting fraud and threat of (presumably impotent) law suits, are whipping his supporters into a frenzy and lighting the already smouldering touch-paper of civil unrest.

It appears that this is his intention.

Surely if things really kick off, he should be held accountable for any resulting violence?

I know nothing about US Criminal Law, but I'm sure you'll agree that a childhood spent watching Perry Mason and LA Law gives me a mandate to pontificate on such matters!!!

          Hello Ms. Diddles,

Trump has only expressed his opinion at this point which he is completely entitled to do. He has not encouraged any violation of the law. His opinion is shared and echoed by many others as well.

So to answer your question - No. (my opinion only).

The Associated press has projected that Biden wins the state of Pennsylvania and thus the Presidency. Far from being official though.

Fox and CNN have called it. People are celebrating in Times Square. Trump tweets in all caps "I WON THIS ELECTION BY A LOT".

                  Thanks for the response, c.d.

Yeah! I just scrolled through his post-election night tweets and speeches (euuuugghh!, I now feel somewhat violated!) and right enough, he does stop short of explicitly encouraging civil unrest.

I'm sure the responsible thing to do would be to try and calm things down in such an incendiary situation, however the fact that he has not elected to take that path will be a surprise to precisely no-one!

From what I'm seeing here in the last hour, it's "Ranga, get the door on your way out, ya bam!"

                  I'll drink to that!

The question now is whether he will give a classy concession speech and exit the stage quietly and with dignity. I would say the odds are probably pretty much up there with the chance of me having a threesome with Kate Winslet and Megan Fox. I haven't given up hope though. For the threesome I mean.

And Kate and Megan -- if by some chance you are reading this and are interested PM me.

To be fair, he'd have done better if it wasn't for all the negative press covefe.
