I used to manage a liquor store right after college and the owner was very keen on the finer liquids and always was very gracious on educating us (and of course letting us sample) many varieties of rare, expensive and exquisite alcoholic beverages.

One day he brought in a special order of a Scotch (I am going to mangle this) called Uscha baugh (sp). I know thats not spelled right but that is I beleive the correct pronunciation. Best Scotch I ever had.

Does anyone know what I am talking about??? I think it might actually have been a blend.

On a funnier note about Scots being stingy. I used to know alot of restuarant/bar workers and one of there sayings was:

If the customer is a pipe smoker there will be little to no tip, and if they are Scottish you'll owe them. People who left bogus tips were referred to as Scottish pipesmokers.

'uisge baugh" is Gaelic for "Water of Life"......which would refer to all whisky.

My granddad was a pipesmoker.....not sure about him being tight....but he did always seem to have the double blank at dominoes when both players were chapping at it came to a spot count.

Yes, and according to Bruichladdich : "Usquebaugh-baul" means "dangerous whisky" ("water" = whisky). Indeed, one Bruichladdich is called "X4+3 Usquebaugh-baul". Distilled 4 times, 90pcent alc/vol.

        Cheers

            Héhé !
Jim McEwan said you're allowed to add some water in your dram.

He also said it's sweet....but I'm not sure....

              Alligator

The new Ardbeg Alligator is a good investment : only 5760 bottles for the whole world. Price : around 70 €.
Believe me, you'll sell it more than 500 € after some months on e-bay.

                .

90% ? smoking ? Do celts have a particularly high number of 'spontaneous
                combustion' cases, I wonder ?

Wait and see, my dear. According to Jim McEwan, this fourth distillation is an old recipe that hasn't been tried out for centuries....

I'm ready to test (taste ?) it in Islay next February.

I drink whiskey almost every day. I think my favorite is Bushmills, mix it with coke, man thats gooooooood. But I also enjoy George Dickel I guess that would take second for me

Mix it with coke? Ouch, sacrilege! :-) I like it straight. Maybe just a tiny bit of ice. Just realized I haven't had a whiskey for...must be months. Not a great idea to have one now though, as I'm taking antibiotics, and I already detect a hole in my stomach.
                          Best regards,

Indeed ! and Bushmills is sweeter than coke.
Drink it straight, Jordan, and use coke as a chaser my friend.

Coca Cola and Bushmills whisky? That's a waste of good Irish whisky.

I beleive Chainz is young-when he gets older and most of his tastebuds die i am sure he will ditch the coke.
