First if you are trying to equate nudity to sexual arousal I suggest you look at some of the old naturist films – works better than a cold shower. (Why aren’t women in the Amazon getting raped?)
Presumably the women in the Amazon don't have the effect of a "cold shower" on men in the Amazon, since they procreate.

I'm sure that some of the women do get raped -but I'd be very surprised if rape was a bigger problem for them, than elsewhere, despite the fact that they go around topless and half naked.

Their Society clearly has rules like all societies..and it can't be that women
displaying their bodies and trying to look attractive are "asking for it".

Well, what then are the sensible precautions women should take in the other circumstances under which they are raped? the 95% other ways in which they are victims?

When a woman wakes up in her own bed to find a strange man standing over her in a ski mask, are you going to tell her that she should have worn more than a t-shirt to bed?

When a woman gets pulled into an alleyway on her way to her car from work, is that the price we pay for working?

When a 13 year old girl walks 100 yards from her family's hotel room at 7 in the evening (wearing jeans and a t-shirt) to retrieve a book she left by the pool and six drunk college guys grab her and take her down to the beach to gang rape her in privacy, should she have known better to walk outside in the evening, even though it was summer and still fully light?

And when a 7 year old girl is forced to perform oral sex on her uncle every time he is around and alone with her, which is a lot... do you remark to your friends how she shouldn't have been wearing ruffled dresses because thats obviously what turned him on?

We don't get raped because of what we are wearing. We don't even get targeted because of what we are wearing. We have known this for years. There have been any number of studies on rapists and serial rapists. It isn't a factor. The only reason what we may be wearing matters is that it allows people who secretly believe that "some people deserve to be raped" (women who have sex before marriage, women who pursue their own sexual partners, women who liked to be looked at, to feel attractive, women who have multiple sex partners in heir lifetime, women who arent chained to a stove with a baby under one arm and a bible under the other)to feel justified in their beliefs.

It might interest the women going on the slut walks to know that it is all the British government can do to prevent imprisoned rapists actually having the vote. Something to do with their human rights...

SlutWalkers should know "it is all the government can do" to prevent rapists having the vote?

Well, erm, theSlutwalks aren't "all the government can do", because they were arranged by a seventeen year old girl. Not the government. Or if you meant there was nothing the government could do to prevent rapists getting the vote, then that is a different subject entirely, and a misunderstanding of interpretations of the european charter of human rights. The worst casescenario is that all convicts recieve suffrage regardless of crime. Butthen inthe current state"denying the vote" is hardly all the government can do. Sending them to prison is normally a good start.

              .
I think you are being very silly here and being very disrespectful to those victims who are raped by violent and evil people. In the instances you have quoted I cannot see any example of the victims doing anything that would make their attack more likely, therefore of course they are blameless. If you expect an answer to the question what else can women do to prevent them becoming victims of rape – or any other crime- I would suggest listening to good advice given to them by the police for a start.

It is entirely different if you persist in acting in a way that the police tell you is unwise. For all the nonsense written on here about this not being more provocative than that I think we have to admit that the police have far more experience of dealing with rape than any of us here, and if they tell you something- what harms does it do to listen? Instead we have mountains of drivel about people exercising their rights and so on.

In some weird fantastical utopian planet I can see that the way a women dresses would not have any bearing on the general population. However this is planet earth and not all people are perfect and amongst the population you have a percentage who believe the way a person dresses gives off a certain message. In just the same way certain people believe the colour of a person’s skin gives off a certain message.

Yes I know they shouldn’t do that but unfortunately that is what happens. It is your right to pat every dog you come across, and probably 99% of them will roll over to get their tummy tickled, but the 100th will rip your arm off. Now common sense dictates that you don’t actually go patting every strange dog – why take the chance?

So why then to certain people say they wish to take the chance by dressing like a slut?

To continue my analogy, if a man with a stolen Porsche went to the Police and this officer said, well really you were asking to have it stolen because it's such an attractive car, you should have had more sense and bought a Robin Reliant, would that be acceptable?
In just about every crime on the books. If I attack a man and he kills me he can claim self defence - hence placing some of the blame on the victim.

If I go into a bar get drunk and start pushing people around until one of them punches me - provocation is a defence to the charge of assault.

In every crime the victim can be found to be at fault, if their actions were unreasonable or likely to create a situation which would make the commission of that crime more likely.

As I have already said if you left the doors of your Porsche wide open and the keys in the ignition you would get very short shrift from the insurance company.

In law there is a thing called Mitigation of losses, in other words the victim is expected to take every step to ensure the effect of the crime is lessened.

Kind of hypocritcal to expect that respect afforded to you but not to afford it to Tom, isn't it. It doesn't matter whether Tom's real name is Tom, or Jerry, or whatever, it's the name he has chosen on this forum, and adding little bits designed to belittle another poster only reflects badly on you... or perhaps you'd prefer to be called Little Bobby?

As usual, you miss the point, anyway.
If I miss the point it's because you have failed to make it. My name is Bob Hinton, that's what I have put and I expect others to address me by that name. If LTT wants to put his real name than I will gladly use that - if he prefers to use a rather silly made up name then he can't really complain if others want to make it sillier.

Nope. I keep looking and I can't see "Little" on the name I use here. Ah well if Dimwitted Bobbykins can't see the point BabyBird made more fool him. I was unaware we had to use our given names simply to expect them to be used.

You don't mind me calling you Dimwitted Bobbykins do you? Your given name sounds silly enough i assume you wont mind me making it sillier. And you wouldn't be hypocritical enough to demean others while demanding respect yourself eh Bumpkin? I mean that would just make you look dimwitted Little Man. (Now how about we set you some lines too?)

If people get the wrong message you change society, like the slutwalks are, not blame people for wanting to act with the dignity they deserve. The many do not panderto theoff chance of a rapist too dumb to think there are more reasons for dressing with self respect thanthan a desirefor a knee trembler.

I meant that the Government are fighting to stop imprisoned rapists getting the vote, and may succeed - or may not. If the the rapists do get the vote, then stand by for the political parties to put free leather masks in their next manifestos.

Well it is my given name and I grant you full permission to use it. Personally speaking if you feel it too difficult to type 'Bob', then by all means you call me anything you like Little Tom Tom.
