“Gérence“ here means “taking care of“/“acting upon“.
“Ingérence“ means “unmanageability“.

The basic definition of 'Postmodern' is: "Of or relating to Art, Architecture, or Literature that reacts against earlier Modernist principles, as by reintroducing Traditional or Classical elements of style or by carrying Modernist styles or practices to extremes."

Great definition, but for visual arts/sculpture/architecture.
For lit and drama, “postmodern“ means seen with ironic distance, subversive, self-reflective (such as containing playful, ironic comments about the genre's own rules and structure). I mentioned BtVS because it's an iconic, textbook example of “postmodern“ lit/drama, and Tom happens to know the show pretty well.
Aren't we, like, total NERDS right now? (And I hope you've been by your horses.)

I do love my Buffy. The fact that I don't want television, but only dvds, allows me to appreciate that some of the best shows ever made have come out in the last 10 years or so (Buffy aside, which is 14 years old). 24 is amazing, and I really enjoyed the first season of Vampire Diaries. Haven't seen True Blood yet. Just received the first four seasons of Tales from the Crypt. Woo-hoo!

I do love my Buffy. The fact that I don't want television, but only dvds, allows me to appreciate that some of the best shows ever made have come out in the last 10 years or so (Buffy aside, which is 14 years old).

I do LOVE my Buffy too. Can't even travel without some DVD discs with (not so) random episodes.
TV's just too expensive in the US. When I'm in Chicago it would have costed me about $150 monthly. I said “Thanks, but no thanks. My battered iBook and scratched DVDs will do.“

I was never a big fan of YouTube, until recently (of all things, during my b-day bash) a friend revealed to me there's the possibility of watching old flicks and documentaries on YouTube, in multiple parts, but in their entirety. First one we chose was a documentary about The Runaways. While I was sick lately I watched Small sacrifices on YouTube, about Diane Downs, with an amazing Farah Fawcett. I might watch Dollhouse on YouTube tonight, I hope they feature it. Never seen Dollhouse yet, only pics.

you're right about Postmodernism, but I was alluding to Postmodernity, which is an altogether different concept and belongs, to make it short, to sociology - not art.
And my poor self being awfully reactionary, I use it in a pejorative sense.

well don't you remember your early years untill the age of 15 or 16??? it always feels like... as long as we havn't experienced it, we're kind of lost with it, we know "in theory" how it works, but that's it, i only got to know exactly how it works when i went to study in ascott as exchange student, the girls in the dormitory showed me things i didn't even think were possible. i didn't say that they DON'T do it, but, they're more in the blue, while boys just seem to have a lot more experience in solitary pleasures. so yeah it's very common that girls really start to discover how their own sex is working when their sex life starts.maybe it's lso due to that our genitalias are built in a more complex way, i can't really explain (although i've heard from my sister who's teaching kids from 10-13 that the new generations were very screwed up about these things and started earlier and earlier). maybe you didn't come that far, i WAS raised in a catholic dominican institution.

Tom, i don't like buffy, but the tales from the crypt are just awesome! by the way, playing sexist just to provoc reaction from a girl is something i've been through almost everyday with a certain man, even going up to bad reflexions when coming home and finding me with friends like "ooooh i see it's the return of calamity jane and the dyky dykes!", so yeah, it's casualty for me, role playing games are fun, i love to pretend being stupid.

ahahahah I lived on te other side of the coast in Sweden, when i first arrived i could only speak norwegian so they were always calling me "fjällapa"(i was stupid enough to cancel my studies in Tromsø and move to Uddevalla instead), but i found it very stupid considering that they've been swedish for only 300 years, even their dialect is closer to norwegian than to swedish.so it was easy for me to tease them back.but i really liked them.

Not quite, I've found about certain “sensations“ at 8 (partly, but pretty accurately). First softcore flick I managed to get in at 13 (Le déclic, or maybe it was a flick with Bo Derek) I thought to myself 1) “Hmm, the way they move seems to definitely have possibilities“, and 2) “So I wasn't doing things the wrong way the entire time“.
And that's quite enough for bleeding confessions.

well one of the things i tend not to like with some sisters is that they claim to want to be equally social, but in the end just want to turn it the other way around. I believe in the strenght of women, but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying reading Montherlant (who was a very fierce mysogine).I dunno how far. why?? i've only been there once and it was about 10 years ago.i nly stayed 3 days.
