Hmm... Maybe that works in Provençe.
Chainz, I suggest that you first scope out some hip places for coffee, dessert, or a drink- places that are unlike the cafe where she works. If your town has a free weekly newspaper they usually review all the new places. For example, maybe there's a new gourmet chocolate-shop that serves dessert, coffee, cocoa & cocktails. (A place like that is casual, low-pressure, covers all the bases and gives her choices.)
If you know what her interests are you can brainstorm and think of some interesting places to go with her- maybe some place low-key, like an antique bookstore that has a nice little coffee-shop. Or maybe there's someplace more offbeat in your town, like a cool old 1950's bowling alley that serves great milkshakes.
If you have a variety of ideas ahead of time, you will be more confident when you actually speak to her.
Find a time to chat with the lady you're interested in, but make sure it's a convenient time for her, since she's at work- the end of the day or when she's on a break might be best. Then simply say something like "I was wondering if you might like to get together some time?"
If she says yes, you can ask what she'd like to do. She might have some place she's been wanting to go. If not, you can suggest a few interesting places because you've already scoped them out. She'll be impressed that you did your homework.
Good luck!

Quant à toucher des gamines, c'est certainement plus rare chez les latins que dans certains autres endroits.
