Out of curiosity, what parts of Australia do the teams represent. I think the "Swannies" are the affectionate name for a team from "Western Australia" called maybe "the Black Swans" or something like that?

Steady actually got it right, but I understand why you might think what you did.

West Coast has the West Coast eagles [buggeredr if I know why] and

Freemantle Dockers [that one makes sense as it is and long has been a port town]

Sydney's got the Sydney Swans and now Greater Western Sydney Giants. The Swans were originally South Melbourne and were transplanted when they were in financial trouble and they league were trying to spread beyond Victoria. GWS is a new team only been in existence for 2 or 3 years.

Queensland's got the Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns, the lions too were a transplant when they were trying to expand their boundaries.

South Australia has the Adelaide Crows and Port Adeliade.

I think the rest are all Victorian based, but have a feeling I've left someone out.

Until about the 80's it was the Victorian Football league and the pro teams were all in Victoria.

But at least my Bunnies are off to a good start in the NRL.

Pre-season form doesn't mean much at all, a lot of teams try new combinations or rest stars or jsut start to jell.

But so far the Lions look pretty good.
