As you may remember, I've followed this silly symphony from the moment the conductor raised his baton. The one thing I'm not is uninformed about it. Ridicule is assuredly all it deserves. And after all, ridicule is kinder than vitriol...

    Chris ...

    I knew exactly what you mean't ...

and you are entitled to your opinion,
whether it be right, wrong or uninformed ..
we are all full of our own opinions.

I was just trying to give you a more accurate picture
of the situation that we all find ourselves in.

I'm just a plain simple man also ...
and meaning 'man', as in mankind/human,

    regards,
    plain, simple Victoria

    Hello David,

I looked and have found it on my favourite book site 'ABEBOOKS'
which I highly recommend, you can 'see' the condition of books
better than most before you buy, ask the seller a question etc.
Book dealers from all around the world ..so much choice on new
    and second hand.

    You said,
"Exactly! and I love the idea so much ..."

me too, but it is not just an idea .. but The Truth.

    many thanks,
    Victoria

No - "I'm just a plain, simple man".*

I just meant that Steve Powell's story was like a tale told by an idiot and signified nothing.

I then presume Chris that you understand the meaning?

But in case you are in any doubt as to the identity of the idiot ..
it is, you and I ..

in fact, all of us who are not awake/ have not realised
the truth of creation and existance, and it's purpose.

That 'awakened one' ie, a Buddha.. is one who has 'realised' that knowledge
in 'experience' .. not just an intellectual understanding ...

That then makes us all idiots ..
so .. welcome to the club.

I'll lend you tuppence for an extra cuppa... but you will have to wait whilst I get the road cleared of snow..could take some time because I only have a pitchfork. Oh, and enjoy the waves crossing the channel, I hear they are nice and calm this time of year ;-)

Indeed, Carol. I have been bathing six times a day for the last six years in soggy fifty pound notes that I made off the diary. Can't think why others aren't simply following suit. It can't be that hard, surely. Oh wait... one has been trying quite hard.

Trouble is, all the profits have now gone down my plughole so the trip to Italy will be by coach all the way there and back from Basildon bus station - evening meals and drinks included - for about fourpence. I was only saying to someone the other day that I haven't worked out what the catch is yet (apart from it being bleedin' February).

I hope you will all think of me while I'm helping to push the coach - or being VERY nice to the driver.

    Love,

    Caz

    Hello Victoria,

    From Zoroastrianism,
The Creator Ahura Mazda is all good, no evil originates from Him.
    One 'uncreated Creator'
Exactly ! and I love the idea so much...

The book you mention sounds interesting 'Zarathustra and the old Avesta'
I shall add it to my future book reading list.
    You'll enjoy it !

"Zarathustra and the old Avesta (four lectures at the Collège de France)" is actually the main section of the book (which is a collection of Kellens most important articles and lectures).
Kellens denies any biographical backgroung of the prophet in the Gathas, which, in his view, are purely ritualistic.

    Here is the reference :

Jean Kellens, "Essays on Zarathustra and Zoroastrianism", Mazda Publishers, Inc, 2000.
