Recently watched movies

I just got all 8 of the Hellraiser movies

probably won't get to watch them before next week, but I'm looking forward to it (although I'll likely skip the third, which was utter dreck)

In Blackpool last year, the wife and i visited the chamber of horrors, now I know i have a bad heart, but I assured her everything was behind glass etc.

Walked around the corner and Pinhead and his cenobites were all stood there, you could walk up and touch them!!

After Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason and loads of suspended body bags, we ran through the rest like a bunch of muppets!!

I have all the Hellraiser movies, they do tend to go down hill after 1!

I did like that one where the girl gets rid of an irritating boyfriend/husband. No idea which one it was.

Pin-head is in it.

The muppets/Brian Froud/David Bowie 80s fantasy adventure.
Watched it AGAIN last night.

P.S. I renew my recommendation for Gingersnaps and Gingersnaps II

I used to work for an arm of the Home Entertainment Corp, who distributed Ginger Snaps 1,2 and 3 through their distribution arm, Mosaic.

I was sent copies of all of them for free, and eventually bought the three films on there DVD release.

Mosaic, during that period was releasing some really awful "Horror" movies, but those three rose head and shoulders above the rest.

Hi Mike,

There were actually two theatrical releases of Close Encounters here in the States. The first version is the one I prefer. They didn't oversell it at the end by going into the spaceship. The example that first came out on video here was the second theatrical rendition. I didn't know if the first theatrical version ever came out on DVD.

The second was a surprisingly fine sequel. Dare I ask about the third one?

Ginger Snaps 3 is a prequel and is actually not bad for a third installment, it even includes all the same girls.

It explains that the girls are destined to become werewolves, because it happened to their ancestors.

I have both versions of Blade Runner on dvd but rarely watch them.

The last time I watched Blade Runner it didn't seem as good as I remembered. I don't know if it's dated to me or what.

It has been a while since I last watched it too, I have a habit of finding dvds still in their wrappers months after buying!!

Just downloaded a copy of "Wilt"

Pretty good movie, starring Smith and Jones, and from a book by Tom Sharpe (one of the funniest English authors ever).

It follows the book fairly closely, but ironically although the book is the first part of a trilogy, the movie changes the ending in a way that shuts down any chance of a sequel (although I don't think the movie was that successful, so it's probably a moot point).

This movie is almost impossible to find on DVD outside the UK

I remember "Wilt" well, with the blow up doll! We watched it when it first came out in the uk on VHS, that was a long time ago.

I watched "Halloween 2007" the other night, it was the Director's Cut, which means there will be a theatrical release at some point, which is annoying!

"30 Days of Night", was really good, very gory, great plot and it turned the vampire genre on it's head, then chopped off it's head with an axe

I bought "Alien Vs Predator 2: Requiem", yesterday but we are still to watch.

I bought the Indiana Jones trilogy in anticipation of the new movie coming out. I haven't watched them yet, because I hope to have a marathon the day before the release of the new one. I'll be all whipped out by the time I finish the fourth one! :-)

I have a copy of 30 Days of Night, but I haven't watched it yet. I want to be able to watch it with no distractions, because I'm pretty sure it's going to be awesome!

I picked up a copy of "Blood Of Heroes" last week in a bargain bin. For those who don't know, it's a post-apocolyptic sci-fi flick about a sport that is a cross between football and rollerball. It stars Rutgar Hauer and Joan Chen.

It's pretty low budget, and it's a little slow at times, but it's definately a great movie if you're into the "Mad Max" kind of movie.
