Well, I'm jolly well not going into any pagan toilets. I'm not sacrificing my c*ck for anyone.

I am genuinely lost on this subject. I don't understand why people think that dressing as a woman and going into ladies toilets will become a strategy for rapists.
Apart from the fact that they would a) be incredibly easy to spot after the fact and b) highly likely to be disturbed in the act, I'm at a loss to explain why anyone would think that these type of people need to disguise themselves in order to rape. They usually just do it.
I think it's terribly insulting to men in general as well as the Trans community. There is this slight undertone to all this that given half a chance, men will exploit the opportunity to rape someone. It's very bizarre, and frankly stinks of the same kind of thinking that women need to wear the Niquab in order to help men 'control their urges'.
It's all very daft. Just go for a pee and stop making a bloody fuss about it all.

The French take a far more pragmatic attitude than we do to all this crap - whoops, sorry! - about crap. Drive along any N-route in France and every so often you'll see place called an 'aire', meaning just 'area'. This is somewhere you can pull over for a rest, eat your pain au chocolator whatever, or relieve yourself. Normally, an aire will have just a few trees, parking spaces, a rubbish bin, maybe a couple of picnic tables, and not much else. Very few of them have a public lavatory. Many is the time I've been glad to come across one of these pull-ins on a long drive. Like all self-conscious Brits I wait until there's no-one else near before hiding myself behind a suitable tree. Not so the French - they just stop, hop out, nip into the trees, un-zip, relax, and off again, without caring who sees them.

Five o'clock shadow, Bridewell?Originally posted by Bridewell View PostThe problem I envisage with all this is that of unintended consequences. I can understand how a man whose self-identity is female might feel uncomfortable using a toilet with other men; likewise how a woman in the reverse situation might find her situation similarly difficult. Sorry, couldn't resist.
How does anyone ever tell if a male in the Gents might be a predatory homosexual, or a female in the ladies a predatory Lesbian, unless they actually act the part and make a pass? Physical appearance and clothing don't always give the game away and are totally irrelevant in my view if people keep themselves to themselves and don't try anything on.
Exactly. It's a bodily function. Get in, get on and get out.
It's a bodily function. Get over it.
I was in Wembley for a Rod Stewart concert back in the day and the queues for the Ladies were, as per usual, ridiculously long. Not wanting to miss a second of the concert I tried the Gents, which had cubicles free. I asked nicely first and nobody in there objected, so I averted my eyes and went for it. Life's too short!

And separate 'bathrooms' by religion? How many would you need? Just 5 for the major religions of the world - or one for each of the estimated 4,200 religions that currently exist? Presumably a separate one each for atheists and agnostics too?
Also, if you don't feel uncomfortable in the company of people of your own gender in any other situation, why would you do so in a public lavatory? What difference does it make? It's not as though you have to wave your bits about in other people's faces. And won't people who are not trans-gender feel uncomfortable at having members of the opposite gender using the same facilities? What about their discomfort? Even men's toilets have cubicles as well as urinals. Why not just go into a cubicle and lock the door if you want privacy?

Thanks Pcdunn.Originally posted by Pcdunn View PostHello, Caz, if the forum had a "like" button for your post, I'd use it! Yes, it is more a matter of civil rights, than religion or sexuality.
But people of all ages choose to be nasty, and that should remain their problem. Adding to the problems of the poor souls who were born, through no fault of their own, in the "wrong" body for them, is exactly that - nasty. I realise it's fear and insecurity about one's own identity that causes such nastiness towards others, but it's a poor excuse.Although part of the problem lately is some parents listening to their young children when they say they feel as if they're a girl, not a boy, and asking schools to help educate the other students and parents about transgender children. It has led to nasty fallout, even in areas not predominantly in the so-called "Bible belt".
While I love a good healthy dollop (sorry!) of lavatorial humour, I honestly can't relate to some people's unhealthy obsession with other people's genitalia - generally well hidden and well behaved in public. Maybe it's a form of mental illness.
On a lighter note:
Here I sit, broken hearted,
Paid a penny and only farted.

No I did not, Robert. Being a gentleman, I am always ready to assist a lady in need but in this instance I got the feeling that digging the hole was not the part of the process with which she had some misgivings.Originally posted by Robert View PostDidn't you dig the hole for her, CD?

I recall taking a young lady backpacking who had never been before and did not have a lot of experience with the great outdoors. She asked me where the bathrooms were and when I said there aren't any she said well what do I need to do because I have to go? When I discreetly asked if she just needed to pee or if it was more serious she replied definitely more serious. I provided detailed instructions on how to dig a hole etc. as her expression grew more horrified. She thought about for a minute and decided she would just hold it till we got back.

You need to keep in mind that a number of Christian Conservatives are still very upset about the U.S. Supreme Court legalizing same sex marriage. A number of these so called "bathroom bills"passed by some states provide them with legal cover to discriminate against gay people in a number of ways. The whole bathroom thing is just the tip of the iceberg thing to get people on their side who have no idea what all is contained in the legislation.
