As Ms D said that photograph is from the Docker murder scene. The one I was talking about is the one linked to in post 14.

This must be it? Your link in Post 14 goes to many different photographs; this is the only one I'm finding for No. 95 Earl Street. It looks like it was taken using Google Earth.

Sorry Roger but I don’t understand tech, as you know. When I click on that link the main photograph at the top is a black and white image looking along Earl Street. It has white arrowed text boxes saying “woman found in back court,” and “police caravan,” and “to Dumbarton Road.?

The picture above is the location of the murder. Helen was killed at the rear of that building.

I had just assumed that the taxi deposited Helen Puttock and her presumed assailant at number 129 close to Balmoral Street. But if she was found behind in the backyard of number 95 either they were dropped off before this point; or Helen ran away from own house to escape him. It would be helpful to see the taxi driver's original statement.

The taxi driver had just dropped of Jeannie first, at John’s insistance, and she lived at Scotstoun. I’ve no knowledge of the geography but if Scotstoun heading away from us in the photo (looking at the direction of the bus heading to Scotstoun terminal) then wouldn’t that mean that on returning the taxi would have had to have had to either, a) dropped them off by her house then they either walked to number 95 or Helen ran, or b) it drove right past her house and dropped them at or near number 95.

According to George Puttock, he tracked down Alexander Hannah and spoke to him. He assumed that Helen had got fed up with him making a couple of wrong turns (being new to the job) and got him to drop them near to her house?

Speaking as an ex-weekend taxi driver I was always aware that we provided a door to door service, especially with women late at night. That's what they were paying for. Sometimes I've been asked to hang back and make sure a woman made it her front door which was all 'part of the service' and made for regular customers.

So I've no idea why this Mr. Hannah dropped of his fare in what looks to me halfway down Earl Street unless, as suggested, he'd made a few wrong turns and Helen was just trying to make the best of the situation. She presumably believed that her escort was not going to leave the taxi but would return to his own home. When he didn't, I assume near to number 95 Earl Street around 100 yards from her home, then things took the turn they did.

Kelso St / Yoker is further west, and you would pass the Kingsway Court flats (where the children's home previously stood) on the way.
