I read that with interest. Possible I suppose but not very probable, some-one approaching their sixties committing six, maybe eight murders. I will stick with my suspect who, interestingly, was also in the area at the same time as the murders of Eve Stratford & Lynne Weedon. He would have been in his mid twenties at the time of Hammersmith murders and only mid thirties when Eve & Lynne were murdered

Thanks Bob for that Jones death information.
Vincent-There's supposedly DNA with Stratford/Weedon so it should be easy to include or exclude your man. What about the other "bunny murder" of Lynda Farrow in 1979?This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

I've never come across any suggestion that DNA exists. Some of the bodies were in a very badly deteriated condition when discovered.
To my knowledge most of the victims were cremated..certainly Hannah Tailford was...and hers was the only coroners file I could discover.
Presumably there is more on record as David Seabrooke was given access but they still have not been opened up to the public.
I'd be most surprised if and DNA exists.
As a matter of interest you do all know how the victims were suffocated?
The killer was either very fit or on Viagra.

Hi Jeff,
I do know how they were suffocated or at least what the theory is. If that sexual practice was his thing then it probably excited him into a frenzy.Last edited by sdreid; 08-07-2008, 05:15 PM.This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

Yes, Off the top of my head Du Rose theory...based on the scatch marks to the throat presumably from the victims own figure nails...I dont believe this was the case in the first victim Elizebeth Figg...Rees was to badly decomposed to be certain.
However it was deduced that the killer was fairly well endowed.

Harold Jones
OK back from work. Harold Jones.
My first encounter with Mr Milkins was towards the end of last year. I was just finishing my book on South Wales Murders and found myself short of a good photo of Harold Jones. I saw on the Internet that Neil Milkins was writing a book about the case so contacted him to see if he could provide me with one. He wrote back saying that as he was going to bring out his own book he didn’t want to give any of his photographs away to other authors.
I next heard from him after my book came out and it contained a photograph, which he apparently didn’t have. He then asked me if I could send him a copy. I agreed.
I read his book when it came out and it is obvious that he has done a terrific amount of research into the case, unfortunately he simply did not have the ability to turn it into a readable book. The book is one of the most difficult I have ever tried to read and would have benefited with the services of a good editor. It also suffered from having far too many photographs. I would say that he could have removed 75% of the manuscript and at least 80% of the pictures and made a far better job of it.
A lot of the book is simply verbatim accounts taken from newspapers and other records. I was also surprised to see that he had taken the title of the book from a much earlier work on the James Bulger case.
As for the story that appears on Wales online I wouldn’t place too much credence in it. I really find it very hard to believe that the book has sold 13,000 copies; it was only published in May this year. In the book Milkins suggests that Jones may have been guilty of another murder near Swansea but offers no evidence. I really cannot see Jones being Jack the Stripper. I have spoken to a Detective who worked on that case and he says the police were very certain they knew who the killer was.
The statement in the article that Scotland Yard spent 3 months researching Jones’s whereabouts between 1963 and 1965 doesn’t make any sense. What were they hoping to find?

Thanks for all that information Bob.
I know the police say they know who did Stripper but you see that in a lot unsolved cases and here they don't even have the guts to give us a name or their proof. If they really know who did it, it is immoral to leave the cloud of suspicion hanging over the heads of so many innocent men and their families. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

Many thanks for that information Bob, most interesting.
You are correct about the rumours that the police new who he was..but like in the Ripper case thats where the problems start, different policeman different theories.
David Seabrook had access to the original files and came to the conclusion that it was Cushway, I'm afraid I don't go along with that theory..I still prefer Mungo Ireland and would be interested in his war records and whether he was ever a policeman.
I still believe that there is a room for a good clean honest account of the Hammersmith Nude story, I believe that the families of the Victims deserve that.
No doubt it will happen one day.
Many thanks again

Thanks Jeff. I wasn't sure if I'd remembered that correctly.
How do you feel about Figg as a victim? She certainly could be but I think I'd put her a little below the 50% line almost entirely because of the time gap. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.
