Don't work too hard reading Mike.

I have the first two seasons of Twilight Zone on DVD so I'm watching the audio commentary versions today. They're the only bonus features I haven't viewed yet. I watched the regular productions from these sets years ago.

Tonight is UFO Hunters again so lets see what flying saucer they're looking for now.

Richard Widmark just died I see - a great career and a long life. He was one of those who proved that you can still play a bad guy well even if you're good looking.

I also saw where they think they might have found "D.B." Cooper's parachute recently. That should revive some conjecture.

I saw he had died too, sad news!!

For the next five nights on Living TV we have Most Haunted Live from Turin, This is usually from 8 until 12 midnight, I would usually watch but its the same old crap!

Then on ITV2 its loads of the rejects from "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" ghosthunting with Yvette Fielding, who is the host of Most Haunted!!

All the more reason to be sat on the computer!!

Interesting coincidence that a couple of months after the FBI says they are going to take another look at the case, some kids find his parachute.

Hopefully the authorities were smart enough to mark the chutes in some way before they gave them to him so they could be identified as evidence if they were ever found. If not, then they did a lousy job.

My copy of The Bloody Truth arrived today and looks very nice, full dust jacket and no scuffs or bent pages!!

The book "The Whitechapel Murders-Solved" by John Plimmer also arrived, I only paid 1 pence plus postage and packaging!!!
I am not holding my breath with it though as there are errors in the photo section, and thats before I get to the text!!

There was a doc on last night about Real Exorcisms!! I watched for a couple of seconds as a woman rolled around on the floor and realised it was similar to what other channels show, but they usually include bikinis and jelly!

Speaking of water monsters, did anyone see Destination Truth with Josh Gates last night? He was on the coast of Vietnam tracking a water monster there. About as close as they got to filming anything was possibly a young whale shark. The film was not great, but the zoologist in Vietnam thought it was a whale shark. However they tracked something huge on the fish finder. It went under the boat and then followed Josh and the crew into a cave. They never got sight of it because this occurred at night. I have seen whale sharks at our aquarium here; they are fascinating. Unfortunately two of them have died and the Taiwanese are reluctant to send more. I can't blame them, but these guys are so graceful and a joy to watch. Of course there was no clue as to what the big critter on the fish finder was.

Hi all,

I saw the article in the newspaper about the parachute that may or may not be D. B. Cooper's being found. Interesting - it it is Cooper's it suggests he did survive the jump.

Oddly enough it was not the only "discovery" in the news. A small item in the New York Post of yesterday mentioned that the remains of a U.S. Air Force pilot named Lt. Arthur Eastman were found in New Guinea. He had disappeared after a mission in 1944, and was identified by his teeth. He is to be buried at Arlington later this year.

Finally, the Australians located the wreck of one of their navy's ships that vanished after a naval battle with a Japanese ship in 1944. The Japanese ship was lost in the battle too (a rarity - I rarely hear of two enemy craft sinking each other), but the Japanese crewmen managed to get into their
lifeboats. None of the Australians survived (over 600 men). The wreck was found near the wreck of the Japanese vessel, and showed it had split apart in the disaster. I'm sorry I can't recall the name.

I have posted a review of John Plimmer's Whitechapel Murders-Solved, it was pretty awful!!!

I watched about 20 mins of Most Haunted Live last night but turned it off in disgust.

It's always the same, all the activity happens when Karl is away from the group in another room!!!

Well, I'll drink a sip of White Zinfindel in everyone's honor, this evening. I limit myself to a glass on Friday and Sunday nights, and a good cold Sam Adams on Saturday.

I hope everyone who has been under the weather or banged up from ice skating in parking lots is feeling better!

I used to watch that Most Haunted some, but it got to be the same thing over and over. They had a terrifying time in the same building where TAPS didn't uncover anything paranormal, and I just kind of drifted away from it.

Speaking of 'monsters', here in B.C. we have Ogopogo, said to inhabit Okanagan Lake. Okanagan Lake is a popular long weekend destination in the warmer months. Have fished and camped at the lake many times but still have yet to spot the bugger.

The article in the New York Post did not mention any specific remains, but the use of dental records. I surmise a skeleton was found wherein the skull
had most of it's teeth.

There was another interesting discovery that made the front page of yesterday's NEW YORK TIMES. A set of scientists in France have managed to make a recording based on a device invented by a Frenchman named Scott
who designed it in 1860. It looks like a set of barrels. Scott believed he could record sound, not (as Edison did) on a tin foil or wax cylinder, but a detailed drawing of the noises made by our talking. He made several of these as early as 1855, but the first one that they found that could be transcribed by computer onto a disc making a noise was of a young woman playing a guitar and singing "Clair de Lune". It is not much (about 20 seconds or sound or so) but it is, as of now, the first recorded human voice.
However, as the process never went anywhere, Edison's invention of the phonograph remains his and only his claim.

Pity that Scott did not try to record some historical voices, like George Sand
or Gustave Flaubert. But it still is interesting.
