    Hi Caz,

"Hold up with the libel checks perhaps?"

I think it is more likely to be along the lines of ...
final confirmations of crucial and relevant research
    information.

Twenty nine Aus. dollars is the normal and average price
    of a new book.

    love,
    Victoria

Ah, I've just checked down the pub among the empty pork scratching packets and damp beermats.

Pre release now available after Feb 14th:

    Hi Victoria,

    Thanks for the update.

He's leading you a merry dance then, isn't he? He implied in Pub Talk that it was all done and dusted and the link he provided misleadingly suggested it would be available from Melbourne Books 'after Dec 1st' and could be ordered if anyone wanted to cough up something like 29 Australian dollars.

Hold up with the libel checks perhaps?

    Love,

    Caz

    Hi Caz,

just a small clarification on "this book Powell claims to have had published",
and "they aren't exactly busting a gut to talk about it".
I don't believe that Steve has 'claimed' to have had it published as yet,
I do believe it will be ready fairly soon though .. it will be a reality, and a good
one. So when we do 'set eyes on it', we can meet down at that pub to talk
about it, I prefer Guinness though.

    love,
    Victoria

    Thanks for the reminder folks.

I must remember to not mention Maybrick on Casebook, Maybrick the unmentionable suspect...naughty me...Although Caz, you ommited to mention Steve Powell's anti-diary treatise, the first since your own anti-diary tract some years ago. Perhaps satire is best, mutual irony and the second coming of Maybrick the Musical to tickle the senses. I'm sure we could all do with the entertainment...

It is indeed a haunting picture Kevin, it just appeared one day as a stock image over the internet. Whitechapel murder images are a little harder to obtain and that's the way it should be.

I appreciate your concerns Ally, but if you had seen the site's homepage, the notice was naturally placed there first. Any further mentions here, and there aren't that many, are for the benefit of those interested, and I did check. No excuse needed with all these lovely replies, and I don't even wear leather pants.

    With misplaced love and affection
    Spiro

Maybrick is the same as any other "suspect" regarding census, bmd etc, i.e. he's an interesting challenge from a research point of view. The sh*t hits the fan once the Diary's introduced.

    Hi Spiro,

You may not have noticed, but Casebook has managed to remain a Maybrick free zone for a number of months now of its own accord, without any need of a nanny to demand it be so.

You might like to take a quick look and see who last posted on this non-suspect under Ripper Suspects. It seems finally to have dawned on casebook anti-diarists that all they have to do is keep off the subject themselves and they will earn themselves a whole lot of peace and quiet. And of course Howard's site had this sorted long ago. Quite ironic, when you think about it, that you are the one to bring it up again here.

    Lots of love,

    Caz

You know, I have this crazy thought. Why don't the owners of websites explain their problems on THEIR own websites rather than spamming the boards of other sites with their problems. You do have a website you can explain your damage on, right?

Or are you merely using ANY possible excuse to post here to try to drum up members? Do you really think that the change in appearance of your website is worth a post, or are you just again, using any excuse to bump your thread?

    Changes to Site Appearance

    Hi all,

If you have noticed that the site's appearance has changed, it is a temporary measure because of some technical issues that are being addressed.

The site should be returning to the original look shortly. Apologies for any inconvenience. In the meantime, all features are still functional.

    Thanks

    Hi Magpie,

    Thanks for your interest.

Yes, because the Maybrick 'diary', after 15 years of speculation, is generally regarded as a highly publicised literary hoax and unreliable as a source on the Whitechapel murders.

If you are keen on discussing the 'diary', there are other more appropriate sites as I'm sure you know.

Oops, sorry, I see Howard beat me to it.

Anyway, still wondering whether Maybrick is off-limits altogether. Thanks again.

    Hi auspirograph

    Thanks for the updates!

One quick question: by "Maybrick free zone" do you mean no duscussion of Maybrick at all, or just no Diary shenanigans?

    Thanks again.
