What a crock of ****. You know Spiro, if you are going to whore your own message boards on competing forums, that's one thing. But cut the bullshit where you try to pretend you are doing it as a service to the people on these message boards and not trying to drum up visitors and members to your own site.

I mean there's shameless and blatant self promotion, and then there's just flat out whoring lies.

And by the way, you never answered AP's questions regarding why his post was deleted and the other posts were allowed to be edited to reflect no change.

    Visitor's Noticeboard

...moving right along as Cap'n Jack attempts to locate his fourth gammy leg...

I hope that the articles, Francis Tumblety - Identifying the Source by Joe Chetcuti were of interest and they certainly have generated some lively discussion. So thanks again to Joe for the generous gesture in displaying his well researched and written article on Jack the Ripper Writers which can be viewed here:

A few items of writing on Jack the Ripper by members for the enjoyment and interest of valued readers and guests. Just a reminder that copyright remains with th

There is also now available to Casebook readers a 'Visitor's Noticeboard' as a free service to the Ripper community found at this link for Ripper announcements, events, whatever...

Visitors to Jack the Ripper Writers may, if you wish, post notices here on book releases, journals, events, people etc. The visitor's noticeboard is offered as

And that Spiro is so lame that if you were a donkey I would respectfully suggest you beat yourself over the head with your three good legs and then throw your good self off the nearest cliff.
    Just don't land on me.

That being the case, Spiro old stick, why does Joe feel obliged to explain his actions and thoughts on the Forums site, rather than yours; and why are my posts deleted for no good reason, other that they are good; and why do you allow undated and unadmitted alterations to dated posts?
You have a thread to discuss all of this already, so why don't you just be up front with it and stop playing god.

    Temerity

For those who lack the temerity, AP Wolf (Cap'n Jack) and Tome Wusscott, in taking their latter day concerns where they belong, all complaints and enquiries regarding the web site Jack the Ripper Writers should be directed to that site at:

    ripwriters@y7mail.com

I do appreciate however, that the two posters mentioned above, have no other avenues left on the internet in spreading malicious gossip and unfounded speculations.

    Michael,

You make some good points which I think Don has covered mostly.

Hi Michael. I'm not entirely inclined to agree with you, particularly since the idea of an 'invitation-only' writers forum was originally my idea. I hatched that a couple or three years back and was in the process of getting a special section on Howard's site for it. This is before he turned evil. It's not an elitist thing. My vision was for a place where only a few topics at a time would be discussed by only select individuals. This would keep interruptions and unproductive fighting to a minimum. In short, cut out all the fat and keep the meat. I still think it's a great idea, but clearly that is not what Spiro is doing, so I wouldn't even compare the two.

    Yours truly,

    Tom Wescott

    Hi Tom,

I did like the piece that Don put after yours, before I forget to mention it.

I was suggesting that grouping together individuals that by their nature cannot or will not embrace concepts beyond their own easily, or often not even with generosity....as with all scholarly Academicia in general, not just Ripperology, leaves you with as many points of view as their are members and no arbitrators or answers. Every one has an emotional stake in their work....and few scholars, (which in my opinion are the ones that research and write about it).....are willing to exchange their findings, instincts and hard work for another's.

I believe the scholars need the students, as much as they are needed by them.

All of this relates to the idea of a writers only discussion board.

    All the best Tom.

    Tom,

Hush! Don't let anyone know about the super-secret Writers Cabal, the free time-shares in the Carribean and Mediterranean, the royalties we divvy up every time the Royal Conspitacy is mentioned and especially ixnay on the $1bn federal bailout of the Rip writing industry.

Yes, everyone of them carries a fridge at conference.
I like to think it is to keep my beer cool, but I believe they carry their transplants with them.

No offense intended towards any "Ripper" writer....famous or not...but one would think banding incestuously to others who do not share your opinions and are generally not open to revising their own opinions would be like taking a cross country bike trip with a stationary bike...or swimming the Channel while carrying a Fridge.

Thankfully not having written Ripper tales leaves me right where I want to be... still learning.

    All the best.

    AP,

You've published a book and at least one essay on the Ripper. Joe has published a number of essays, some even coherent. But what precisely has Spiro published to afford him the title of 'Jack the Ripper Writer/Author'. Have I missed something? Is admining a forum for real writers just a way for him to pretend or 'stand close to the limelight'?

    Yours truly,

    Tom Wescott

Tom, me old marble, I just thought it a wonderful illustration of how when authors get together and rub each other's backs how beautiful the world is.
Joe's entire argument falls down on his wishfull thinking that Scotland Yard detectives pursued Tumblety across the pond.
He made that up, and then blames another author for making it up.
    Brilliant.
