I have not replied to your concerns because I watched the saga unfold with others who did. It is a pointless procedure, as you are like a terrier on this count that will not let go. I was informed by a reliable source that there was proof that MJD was away. I trust that source and I do not have that proof myself. I am happy to acknowledge that the source may have been wrong, but I do not know this for a fact.
Please, please, will you just drop this? It is getting more than a little annoying that you seem to be obsessed with a pedantic point you yourself agree does in no way prove that your man was JTR.
Most people would disagree with you. I disagree with you. Rob and myself have no interest in suspect-led theories and the book was not about that. Your constant comments - and this, being your first on the new forum too - are beginning to me to read like SPAM or even benign trolling.
I know you are a better person than that. This is my one and only answer.
PHILIP
<sigh> I've always had soft spot for Druitt as a suspect...he was named in the first JTR book I read, (Cullen's) and I've always clung to him since a bit, though frankly, I strongly doubt it now...as Rumbelow says, "Why pick on this cricket playing barrister?"
Like Rumbelow though, I do want to know why his family thought him to the murderer? What were they basing their suspicons on? Find out this information and the whole equiation may change...

Hi Rob,
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your book. I just finished it today. The pictures are priceless and everything is there that is needed for someone new to this like myself who probably won't be getting to London anytime soon, lol. A big thank you to you and Philip for a very resourceful book. When the revised edition makes its way here, I will be purchasing it for sure!

Theres to be a revised edition of this God awful book?
They really will sell any old tat wont they? Why anyone woukd wish to have this in their collectiin is beyond me.
And the Authors, idiots the pair of them. Especially that Clack, who, between you and me, drinks tea! Now thats not right.
Monty
PS The book really is a must have, a great overview, gives one a real visual comprehension of the locale at the time and crap free. No half assed theory or suspects.
I know no one who regrets owning a copy.Monty

Combine "The London of Jack the Ripper" with "Uncovering Jack the Ripper's London" by Richard Jones & Sean East and you will have absolutely everything you need for a solo Ripper tour, including a map. That's what I did two years ago and I saw everything.
