    And matching nappy?

The documentary will help drum up extra business for the legion of struggling tour guides and help put pounds in their pockets. My service to the industry. And also help put bums on seats to listen to retired Decective Constables peddle their own theory.

Lovely. Still, I think it's a bit cheeky actually calling it "The Missing Evidence".

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I may be), but 'Missing Evidence' is the title of a six-part series, of which Jack the Ripper is a single episode.

          Yours truly,

          Tom Wescott

Oh, I see. It's a series about conspiracy theories.

              No. Why you presume that?

You think it is cheeky calling it the Missing Evidence. I presume that to form that opinion meant you must have seen it.
But as you have suggested the series might be about conspiracy theories evidently you haven't.

I've just told you I haven't seen it, and I don't think you ever really thought I had.

And I didn't say the series "might be" about conspiracy theories. The title of the series is "Conspiracy: The Missing Evidence" and the Channel 5 website describes it as "New series looking at the evidence that supports some of the worldʼs most notorious conspiracy theories."

But maybe Channel 5 haven't seen the programme either.

Perhaps I can borrow your best mates shawl?

I don't think the ripper tours need anymore help.
Yes that's all we need. Another retired detective churning out another theory.

You said it was cheeky to call it the Missing Evidence.
I know you will not have seen it - when I asked whether you had it was a rhetorical question, as you were expresding an opinion - cheeky - about it. Which I thought was a little odd as you can have no idea really of the content.
I take it you no.longer think it is cheeky.

As for the series as a whole, it isn't accurate to say that it is about conspiracy theories. The blurb writer for Channel 5 seems not to have seen the series either. That is the danger of research via Google.
This is how Blink describe it - and they made the series...

Missing Evidence is a new international documentary series which takes some of the world’s most captivating unsolved mysteries and examines the latest evidence and theories surrounding them, using cutting-edge forensic science and dramatic imaging technology. The series will be broadcast internationally on the Smithsonian Channel (US), Channel 5 (UK) France 5 and SBS Australia.

There's a list of channels there as well - but it is not exhaustive. I know it's on Danish tv as well for example.

The Detective Superintendent isn't churning out the theory - that is my and Fisherman's role in life.
The Super is expressing his opinion on it - he has investigated many murders and led enquiries - including serial killings. But I'm sure your opinion is worth much more.

I imagine this series as akin to something like Ancient Aliens I think. Still, that's not necessarily a bad thing - I believe AA has had millions of viewers in it's time.

I can't wait to see the reviews.

Keep that overactive imagination of yours in check Sally - it is wide of the mark.
Go buy a telly and watch it - don't rely on the opinions of others.

                              Hi,
Only just became aware of the new suspect being shown to us on Channel 5 tonight..one wonders why, I feel rather downhearted, even before it arrives in my living room.?
                              Regards Richard.

My goodness, it sounds as though you should make a complaint to Channel 5. It's not nice to be described as a conspiracy theorist, even by implication.
