    Hi Bailey,

Thanks (and thanks for the other thing also)

I know. I've got to reupload them to the site as I believe they were lost on during the moblieme fiasco.

For those just tuning in, the episodes currently missing from the RSS feed are:

2- Capturing the Victims with RJM

3- Final Cut w/ Justin Dombrowski

4- Sour Grapes w/ Dan Norder

5- The Barrister of Bright Talent w/ Andy Spallek

7- Tour Guide From Hell w/ Philip Hutchinson

9- Is the Solution at Hand? w/ Stan Russo

I'll try to get them reupped tomorrow.

In the meantime, feel free to access the sites public folder for those missing episodes...

Open the Rippercast episodes folder and click the down arrow for those you wish to receive.

That access point will be updated momentarily with the few most recent, since I know some of you depend on the public folder to get the episodes.

Thanks again Bailey, I'll be in touch.

    JM

    Hey Jonathan

Just FYI, and not sure what you can do about it, a few of the earlier episodes seem to have fallen off the server and can't be accessed thru iTunes anymore. I noticed this when I was checking if the new one was up and in my podcast list several of them had little exclamation mark icons saying they couldn't be found. I reset my subscription to get them all back and about 5-6 of the early ones are just plain AWOL.

    Cheers,
    B.

    Episode 23 online now

    Hi all,

    Episode #23

Watching the Detectives: A Survey of Ripper Documentaries

    Is online now.

Thanks go out to Philip Hutchinson and Mike Covell, both being last minute participants in this show.

Due to the fact that I actually had a guest and co-host for this episode, the intended audio bits from the various shows were discarded. I had enough trouble getting my Mac to work as it was.

Nevertheless, I believe it turned out to be a great episode and I hope you all enjoy!

    Thanks for listening,

    JM

PS- The podcast, in case you do not know, is available via the iTunes Music Store's Podcast section keyword Jack the Ripper, or on our site streaming or by free subscription at www.rippernet.com

    Podcast canceled this week

    Hi all,

Due to a death in the family, the podcast had to be canceled this weekend.

I'll be back next weekend with a show surveying Ripper documentaries.

    Thanks for listening,

    JM

Just noticed the chap in the background, I was more interested in Hugo's mutton chops, and how much he looks like Billy Bob Thornton.

Actually I was under the impression that he only decided to give the option money up AFTER League and the resulting lawsuit. So the money would be for V and Watchmen only. However, as he's already sold the rights to all his major works in one way or another, his protestations that he wouldn't sell anymore are rather...hollow. He's basically a whining prima donna little beetch.

Benicio Del Toro did win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Traffic. It didn't win for Best Picture (Gladiator won that), but it did win for supporting actor, and director and a couple other awards (writing and editing).

As far as Alan Moore and the movies go, Moore has refused any money from any of his now four films (From Hell, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, V For Vendetta, and now The Watchmen) due to his distaste for the Hollywoodizing of his stories. He instead has the producers give any money he would have gotten to the artists of the graphic novels, for example Eddie Campbell for "From Hell", Dave Gibbons for "The Watchmen" and so on. Although he has expressed how increasingly difficult it is to refuse the money, as there's a lot of money to refuse.

The Usual Suspects is one of my fave films and the ending still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

He also appeared in "Year of the gun" which was possibly his worst film. It had a good premise but was just dull, and I usually enjoy action films!

I am glad you got your account sorted Cindy, and must say Welcome back.

Hi guys! Thanks for having me on the podcast. Now I'm going to have to go back and write a blog post or two to complete some of my answers!

I took Mike's advice and re-set my membership in the Casebook forum. So now I'm able to get in again. Thanks, Mike!

BTW... love Del Toro in Traffic. Also love the movie. It should have been Traffic or Crouching Tiger for the Oscar that year... not Gladiator.

I need to see The Usual Suspects again. I've only seen it once a long time ago and didn't know Del Toro at the time, so I'm not sure which character he is. A good excuse to revisit that movie, don't you think?
