    Episode 25 online now

    Hi all,

Episode 25, which I remind you and save a scroll upwards, is entitled:

Still Warm- The Murder Of Mary Ann Nichols

and is online now and should be making it's way to your iTunes Library.

I wish to thank Robert McLaughlin, Ally Ryder, Howard Brown and...Chris Scott for being on the show yesterday to discuss this crime.

Chris was a mid-show add after his name was brought up in conversation and I was lucky enough to get him Skyped into the podcast. I thank him for appearing with as short of notice as technologically possible. Chris Scott is always on.

    It was a great show.

    Listen and Enjoy,

    JM

We tried, but unfortunately her Skype connection sounded like she was coming from a portable toilet on a carnival midway.

    Maybe next time.

    Episode #25

    Hi all,

Look for episode #25, titled Still Warm: The Murder of Mary Ann Nichols
sometime tomorrow evening US time. I've to do the usual editing and such niceties which won't be begun until tomorrow.

Joining the show today was Robert McLaughlin, Howard Brown and Ally Ryder. Plus a secret surprise guest which will remain a secret.

    You'll just have to listen.

Thanks to all involved in the podcast, both as participants and listeners.

    Stay Tuned

    JM

I went to Frightfest a few years ago when Ginger Snaps was being shown (it was either 1,2,or 3) and some bloke called Robert Englund was there!

I used to recieve Timecoded Horror movies back in the day and have thousands on VHS, and just as many on DVD, but the best and one which still gives me nightmares is "The Wickerman", which is bloody terryfying!

Jonathon is a great host, laid back and has a dry humour that usually has the guests in stitches and relaxes everyone, his podcasts reflect this great atmosphere.

    Johnathan,

    thanks for the kind words.
My co-host and I have already listened to Blondes... and we were pretty excited by the movies discussed .
We will try to track one of them down and analyze it as best we can.
So, I'm off to frightfest in a minute and I salute you!

    Katia,

I just listened to a couple of 'snippets/fragments', maybe chunks? of your podcast. The 1910 Frankenstein show and comeback sliver parts 1 & 2.

    Wow. I'm impressed.

    Keep up the good work.

If you haven't checked it out, CC Smith has a Hollywoodripper.com website about, well...Ripper movies. And she did a podcast with us: Blondes, Psychics and Abberline's Crutch.

Listen up Rippercast. Katia is talent. A trade may be in order.

Hi Katia. Ah, in that case, then, you'll just be in a very flat county. Mr Philip George is a new one on me - just don't call me Mr Barry George!

You've got to check out the castle in Lincoln. All people interested in crime need to give it a go. Very highly recommended! As is Margaret's walk.

Thanks for letting me know, Mr Philip George. I am very new to Lincolnshire and still quite ignorant about it.
But I am off to Lincoln in November ( have seen the wonderful cathedral already), and I might have a look into the Ghost Walk.

Mission accomplished! ( though I cannot read it on your iTunes page yet, I suspect comments do not appear straight away.)

    Hey JM

Another great effort this week, and a fine return to form after a couple of weeks off. I knew Dr T was a hell of a character, but this was a real eye (or ear) opener. I certainly hope Tim finds a publisher as I'm keen as mustard to read his book.

    Thank you

Thank you for the kind words about the show, and thanks for joining up at Casebook also. Welcome!

While the podcast is not perfect, I am glad to hear that it may bring some people fairly unfamiliar with the subject into the field. We all can think of worse sources for one's initial exposure to the case, I'm sure.

Again thanks for the above post. It was great to see as the first thing in my morning.

    Take care,

    JM

I have discovered the rippercast by pure accident.
I was looking for something to listen to in the history section of iTunes and was attracted by the picture used to advertise your podcast (yes, I know...).
I just want to thank all the people involved in the rippercast for making it such an interesting listen and introducing me to this new world of ripperology..

    A correction-

I mistakenly stated on the show, off the cuff, that Robert Lincoln (Abraham's son) was US Ambassador to England in 1888, while it appears that he did not begin his duties as a minister at the court of St. James until 1889.
