Also... as far as I can tell, the time of Tabram's death was sometime between 2 AM and 3:30 AM. Killeen estimated that the woman had been dead for about 3 hours when he arrived at 5:30, but this clearly might not be accurate... hence the appearance of a soldier at George Yard at 2AM may or may not be related to the murder, depending on how accurate Killeen's estimate was.

He's not likely to have stepped in blood between her legs. That's one 'as far as I can tell', one 'might not', one 'may', one 'may not', and a 'depending on.' Sounds about par for the course in working things out in Ripperology. However, Killeen did give his estimate of time of death as 2.30 a.m. and I would presume that he had more to work on in giving that estimate than you do Rob. Also this timeline puts a soldier in the close vicinity of where Tabram's body was found much more conclusively than Connelly's last sighting of her going 'up George Yard' with the private at 11.45 p.m., which is the time usually quoted by those who do not wish Tabram's killer to be an unknown soldier.

Let's say Killeen was off by just a half hour, and Tabram was actually murdered around 3 AM. This is entirely plausible. If this was this case, how relevant is the soldier who was seen waiting for a friend at around 2 AM?
I would argue... not so much. An hour is quite a long time.

Here we have one 'let's say', an 'entirely plausible' and an 'if'. In you saying 'let's say', I presume that your stand is that Tabram was not murdered by a soldier.

          Also...

Also we have to consider that Tabram was consorting with soldiers that night, she went off along George Yard with a soldier at 11.45 p.m., and a soldier was seen waiting for another soldier at the top end of George Yard at 2.00 a.m. and the doctor estimated her time of death at 2.30 a.m. Whilst I appreciate that this is circumstantial evidence only, the term soldier crops up just once too often in my opinion as far as weighing up the balance in the question of whether or not a soldier murdered her.

It does mean she was with him for 2hrs 45 mins. That is a long time.

Only if it was the same soldier she was with at 11.45 p.m. She could easily have picked up another soldier client before she was murdered.

Does that mean that there was a lot of business on a Monday night/Tuesday morning. Not sure I would see that as peak time.

Not really, it was the night of a Bank Holiday and, as we know from the soldiers questioned, there were several of them about the streets late that night.

Anyway, I've got better things to do than argue in circles all evening. Nice chatting.
