A shot showing both windows and the door -

There is definately a darker shadow on the lower pane which would obviously signify that is the window that was reached through to open the door.
The shock upon opening that door must have been unbelievable - poor bugger.

Not So Unlikely
What Gareth has said may not be so unlikely as some may think.
Any requests for further close-ups?

Whoa, Praters window?
You been storing images away again? This is a new one isnt it?
How do you know its Praters window and has it been shown anywhere else?
You may answer my questions in order.

John,
A stick or long arm indeed. Those or Barnett had gashed up biceps.

Its an odd configuration isnt?
The windows just do not match. I can understand if one was put in later I suppose, to give light to the room.

I guess it is difficult to get a sense of scale (although I'm sure somebody out there has an idea), but any attempt to spring the latch from this hole would have appeared to require a very long arm.
Maybe it could have been done using a stick?
