the Lawende suspect is very hard to dismiss, it would be foolish to think otherwise; most people here probably agree...... but it's not impossible that he quickly left and the Ripper rushed in, we have to keep all options open

I think the man Lawende saw is the most likeliest out of all the suspects, either the contemporary ones or the eyewitnessed ones, to have been Jack the Ripper. I still wouldn't say with 100% certainty due to no-one having seen "Eddowes's" face, other than the man she was in the company of, but her clothes seem quite distinctive and singular enough for it to have been highly probably her to me; as far as we know she was the only woman loitering in and around Mitre Square at that precise time, and for any other women to be in the immediate area wearing uncanny clothes to her isn't as likely as it would seem; namely Eddowes' coat and skirt and their respective patterns and designs. Lawende clearly had an eye for detail when it came to recalling what the bloke was wearing, so there's no reason to assume he didn't memorize the woman's clothes just as extensively too.
