Hi Mont
I remember on the second London Job Philip taking pictures of that outer wall through the office windows...I've got pictures of him taking them..he's bound to have caught something on those shots although I recall the glass being slightly tinted and visibility poor.

Guys,
I may have misled.
If my memeory is correct, some the ruins of the priory were in Peacres back garden. I think they still stand today, emcompassed within the Office building.
Jake and Rob are the guys we need.
Mike,
I havent heard him but Ive been told he knows nada !

There we go, thanks for clearing that up Monty.
There was a guest on the podcast talking about Eddowes, recently I should have asked him!

I got it from the book London's Dead. I presume that the author of this book has taken it from Brewers comic

The position of Eddowes body is different to the alledged murder in 1530.
Eddowes was found in the southwestern corner of the square. The 1530 murder supposedly happened in the Holy Trinty Priory which was situated, in 1888, where the Kearley & Tonge Counting House and Offices were. Basically where Nightwatchman Morris was.
Brewers work was a penny dreadful published not long after Kates demise. There is nothing to support this 1530 murder.

Possibly, if this guy thought there was a curse on the Square, he must have thought so for a reason.
Perhaps some of the "East Enders" can help you, Philip Hutchinson is a tour guide of the area, and does a great speech in the square, so he might know.
He is however in Iceland at the moment!

But was there a murder of a woman there then? in 1530?
I am currently reading a book "London's Dead - A Guided tour of the capitals dead" by Ed Glinert.
It just mentions the other woman in there

Hi revpetero
With regards to the location of the body in Mitre square.
The square is situated on what was the Holy Trinity Monestery which was destroyed when Henry the 8th passed the dissolution of Monastery act which was a set of laws passed between 1536-1541!
The book "Curse on Mitre Square A.D 1530-1888" revealed the curse was in place because of the destruction of a place of worship.
There is a short review of the book on this very site here,

Location Location Location!
I retiterate that I am new to the ripper theories.
Does anybody have any theories on the location that Catherine Eddowes body was found.
I am reading at the minute that it is the location that in 1530 a woman was murdered whilst she knelt praying at an altar.
I am aware obviously of the 358 year difference but a murder in a church would go down in local history and folk lore.
Is it possible that the body was placed on this site in reference to the previous attrocity? Could it hold any hidden theories or clues?
Just thought I'd throw an idea out and realise it may have been discussed before and apologise of going over old previously solved ground.
Ta Muchness
