Lyn quite why you've turned up here accussing people of being 'Wallys' I'm not certain, however I do have a sense of humour.

I share your confussion on the term 'Ripperologist' which is why I created a thread about pricely that subject in Pub Talk.

For me a Ripperologist is someone trying to solve the mystery of who was Jack the Ripper...

But that is my opinion..not a statement of Fact. I hope to update shortly.

If you follow this thread from the start you will see that my stance has been constistant..

I have never tried to defend Patricia Cornwalls book. unless people made factual errors.

I have questioned some posters justification for personal attacks against Patricia, which I feel demeans Ripperology.

And I have defended Peter Bower an expert on paper.

That is it...

I don't believe that the dispute between Patricia and various Ripperologists biols down to much more than name calling..

Her book has more holes than the titanic..but then so do most Ripper theories...which is why many Ripperologists avoid the problem by claiming non of the above.

The fact that I have had many posts argueing a very simple position only goes to show...and taking your Jordon analogy..and in the words of Paul weller..

"the public gets what the public wants"

I have nothing personally against you. I'm sure if we met at 'conference' we'd have lots in common, again that is one of my critisisms of chat rooms..you just cant really gage what someone is meaning...clearly i meant no offence how could i know who or where you'd come from..your stats say 14 posts.

Camera's would be much better...people couldnt hide.

The podcasts are better..vioces help.

I merely came in to suggest you stop making yourself look like a wally. But obviously you're not going to. No point in wasting my breath. And I really ought to pay attention to my own words as well.

Jeff, no one will drive me completely away from the Casebook, not even me, it seems. I rarely post these days because I don't want to go back to looking like a wally again. To put it in English.

Therefore, I thought long and hard about jumping in. But felt I had to to stop you from turning into me of the past or something; Lord, I've no idea what I was thinking now. But I was being kind, dear.

By the way, I've been here since the Casebook began. I've tried to learn to control myself and my temper since it was pointed out what a wally I looked when I continued to argue against the odds. God, what a show up that was too. Get over it, Jeff, and see what others are saying. Learn from my mistakes, for heaven sake.

Scott I'm not certain whether your having a go at Dan here or me. However if you follow through this tread you will discover that almost every post I have made is in reply. I try and reply to mosts post 'quoting me' out of common courtesy. Whether complementary or derogative. (The only post that I make that contain any insults are simply in reply to insults...if you cant take the heat dont go in the kitchen.)

For me repying... is simple manors. Unfortunately on this thread there is alot of traffic.

And at the end of the day..casebook traffic is good for business like any other website..
